Trainman is feeling good tonight...just got my JTS VENOM PERFORMANCE Coils and Wires with Sleeves and NGK 6987 Plugs installed. Gapped the plugs at .045 per Tony. Also I have been breaking in my NEW twin disc clutch from McLeod with an ALUMINUM flywheel. I also have the new BBK Throttle Body regular production model (I gave back the prototype last week). The truck feels extremely fast (bad news for Justin ArrestMeRed). I will be hitting a test and tune soon with another trick or two.....but just the throttle response and seat of the pants feel, the truck is quick. I was in 2nd gear at 40 mph , dry pavement, straight line , no traffic and mashed the throttle hard (didn't touch the clutch) and my 325-40-22 Kuhmo's broke loose and the rear end kicked out to the right for about 100-200 feet till I let off the gas!!!!!:rock: :rock: Trainman is feeling good.:D

Good to read some feedback on Stinky's coils...I plan to install mine soon as we get a break in this never ending below normal temps caused by Al's global warming.............Trainman did you already have the TB installed before installing the coils? Wanting to know if your "fast truck" feeling came from just installing the coils or a combination?..

I feel the coils helped with throttle response, but I think the Aluminum flywheel is the biggest difference. I had the heavy steel flywheel for just about a year and I felt somewhat sluggish around town. I had the first BBK protoype throttle body for a little over a year (search BBK throttle body results in the performance section, posts #22 and #27). They just exchanged it for the production model that has "cruise control" linkage.

Just a little side note for everyones information. When the mechanic had the intake manifold off to install the coils , he said my intake ports were very clean. I only run Chevron 91 octane and it seems to be keeping the engine clean. I have a 2004 RC with 50,000 miles and the valve covers have never been off.

Quick question I have wondered about the flywheel since I first revved the engine and saw how slow it returned to idle...first thing I thought was "needs an aluminum flywheel" but I haven't seen much discussion on it, plus I have an automatic and have no idea about mods on these trucks with auto's.....sooo.......like a world of difference throttle response?? Anyone else please chime n 2 if trainman don't mind gettin the thread jacked a bit:D Sounds way cool, I can see why the trainman is feeling good!
 
Now this is starting to conflict with past posts regarding the light weight flys....consensus had been that the light weights over reved and caused drivability problems on the street but performed well on the track....what say we now?????????????:confused: :confused:

If you look over the past members who bought the light weight flys were removing them and selling stating drivability issues on the street..this is why I shyed away from the LW FW in the past....:dontknow:
 
i've got a bbk on the way as well, gotta finish the bike before i get back to work on the truck, should have it ready to compete again next winter i hope.

if i would buy a set of slicks and put these nifty light weight 20's i got on the truck i might be able to play hahahalol
