just for info

No they didn't. I called Chrysler and they sent someone out to extract the data from the computer.

What I was told was that I hit so hard and so fast that it severed the lines so the sensors never saw that there was an impact.

I call bullsh*t but I just left it alone.

Even still, this is an issue. If the airbags aren't designed to handle that much force, there's a problem.

I say he broke the law, was recklessly speeding and got himself killed. Regardless of how anything functioned, at 100 mph you can't really expect to live. The physics involved with a crash at that speed are hardcore in a street environment, cause that concrete pole was sure as heck not built to give way.

It boils down to opinion in the matter. Don't get me wrong, as I'm on the side of "the trucks should function properly in a reasonable environment". Yet I'm also stuck to: He broke laws that exist for his safety, and died. We live in a day and age where anyone can sue someone for whatever they feel like.

If he knew there were steering issues with his truck, why was he speeding in the first place? His choices got him killed. Dodge didn't make him hold that accelerator to the floor.
whether woody would have lived or not is not as much an issue to mary as is she wants dodge to correct the problems that exist with these trucks before anyone else is killed. Its not about the money, you know decent people still exist. Yes woody made his choice and paid for it. But that dont change the fact that the truck didnt perform to its expectations either. Not everyone is out to sue for anything either, there are principals and liabilities involved here that affects everyone who owns one of these trucks myself included. What if his steering had failed at 70 on the interstate does that change anything.Hell no. AND HIS STEERING ISSUES HAD EXSISTED SINCE 04. fOUR DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS HAD WORKED ON IT. I t looks like someone would have said oh shit we have a problem. I am not defending woody because he did break the law just like most everyone on here has. If anything good has come of this, after standing at his truck door looking in at him, it has stopped me from running on the street for good. I run at an old airstrip now or at the track. But the fact of the matter is you can die at 50 mph if your equipment fails.and if your steering fails and your airbags dont work then tough shit.

out of curiosity how fast were you going?

Pirate, I certainly agree with you that the safety measures on the trucks should function period. You are correct, we could be killed at 50 mph, and that's why I think it's an important topic.

With a 100 MPH wreck, I still think the situation is moot. Just an opinion... and that's why I think the lawsuit is moot. I think the people who are more in place to go after some action from Dodge as a group are the ones who have wrecked trucks that weren't speeding excessively. Any judge is going to cite the excessive speed in this case and pretty much dismiss anything.

I agree with this 100%, yet my principals include not speeding excessively.

Yeah it is BS, that is a retarded explanation they gave you. If they sent someone out to get data out of the computer they probably know there is an issue but can't figure out why the airbags are not deploying as they should.

I agree. I just left it alone due to the fact that not only did I survive the accident I walked away without a scratch as well as the lady I hit.

You can ask Venom Power that the pictures doesn't do the wreck justice. The truck was mangled and God was with me.

the lawsuits from what i understand are not filed about woody being killed rather about failure of the truck. I agree, because i was there, his chances of survival were minimal.

I was in a wreck 6 months ago and totalled the truck. Just me and the guardrail ultimately, but I was going about 60 when I lost controll and probably hit the guardrail around 45 to 50. Like I said, it totalled the truck and the airbag did not deploy.

this is what we are talking about.

Their explanation is complete bullshit, and it's definitely fortunate that no one was injured in your accident...the Big Guy was with you no doubt!
