Just got home from the hospital

Sorry for your luck bro! Having gone through a back injury a year ago, dont get to hard on yourself. I herniated my L2-L3 disk and suffered a massive hematoma in my spinal column last Oct! The pain was unreal but I tried to stay somewhat mobile to prevent the muscles in my back from atrophying. The prognosis was that I would never be able to lift heavy again. By keeping my back healthy through proper training techniques, I was able to fully recover without surgery. My back is very touchy now and I have to be very careful but all in all it was a learning experience that changed my life. What doesn't kill you will make you stronger.

BTW, here's the video of the injury http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lTJhhxDFuC8

I hope you have a full recovery. When I was younger I was racing dirtbikes, playing football, hockey, and participating in Karate tournaments. I can fully relate to the pain you are going thru. The key is rest and proper rehab like aqua therapy. Hope everything goes well for you.

Im busy doing honey do,s-Triming trees & shrubs out back ,reached out to yank a vine out, when I heard a pop noise and felt this unbelivable pain at base of my back.I was down for the count!!!. I stayed in that position for a little while, until I could catch my breath and yell out to my wife(Eva).
Ambulance ride to the hospital, xrays and some serious muscle relaxers later,
Im back home. Now bed rest more pills and wait for follow up visit!!:nurse:
Possibly blew out a disc!!:dontknow: :dontknow:
DAMN WEEDS-they,ll get you every time!!!!
I really won,t know what the damage is for awhile and let me tell you this
really hurts(and I have a high tolerance for pain)
Be careful out there,You never know!!!!!!!!!
Im still gong through this same thing!! only i was splitting wood for my dad and the neighbor rolled a huge stump over! walnut, and it was not cut stright! well i was by myself and i had to flip the splitter up "vertical" cause there was no way in hell i could lift it! well all i had to do was move it over the back of the splitter:( just an inch or two:mad: and WAM!!!! I know what you mean by the "POP" it didnt hurt for about 5-10 seconds!! then i was on the ground! i had to low crawl aroung the house, up the deck and in the house!!! i didnt want to miss work!!! so i made all the wrong decisions!! its been 4 years ago and i dont walk the same, lift the same, feel the same!!! if i had the money i would go through physical therapy!!! ive had epiderals! and pain pills! THEY DONT WORK!! I HAVE KNOW ABB STRENGHT!!! IF ONLY I COULD DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN!!! I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!!

Watched Hogan knows best last night. You know he is living through back pain by the way he walks and gets out of the chairs.

I fell to the ground exactly like you in the video,Although I was just pulling a
f%#@ing weed(how embarassing),It weighed about 4 oz.:nurse:

I,m overwhelmed with all your response,s!!!:)
I just figured I would share my experience,I really apppreciate all your concern!!

awwww Mickey I know the feeling! I herniated discs L4 and L5 about 5 years ago. I remember one time a while after the injury i was sitting on the couch and I started coughing for some reason and all of a sudden spasm......i fell off the couch and was laid up on the floor for almost an hour all alone.....finally it eased off and I could get up. I hope its just a bad spasm......I wouldn't think you have disc trouble....that usually comes from a bad impact I think. Stay strong and let me know if you neeed any help getting things ready for the party cause I can drive up and lend a hand or finish up your honey do's!

Damn Mickey! That sounds terrible. Good think Mrs. Eva was around to lend you a hand!

I hope all is well and I too wish you a speedy recovery!
