Just How Little Do You Know...

Does anyone have one of these? If so, how well does it work?

I see that all it does is send an IR signal to the radio, pretty clever actually.

I had one in my T/A. Worked great, just don't obstruct the IR path. What's cool is you can program the buttons to do something other than intended. . . (stereo related only) Meaning, pause, fast-forward, on/off. I had it on an alpine unit also Scott.

Nice! Thanks!

When you say the "IR Path" do you have to mount that little IR sender somewhere pointed at the unit?

Exactly. :) In the TA, everything is mounted low. It has hard to find a spot where something wasn't in the way. I managed though.

This worries me because the unit I have has a very small IR receiver, and even with the remote, if you are not pointed in the right spot, it doesn't work.

Hmmm.... I'll have to consider this....

How big is your center console? Or do you have a bench seat with fold down console?

thats the only reason i dont remove the factory radio...i love those controls

You can upgrade your system and keep the factory deck in for the handsfree and wheel controls. JL audio has a "cleansweep" part that you can hook new speakers up to and everything will work fine. It even cleans up the signal from the radio before it gets to the speakers. It is pretty nice.:)

I thought the SRT-10 came with an automatic wheel cleaner

Anyone else not know they were there? Anything else I should know about this truck?

Dumbo Roy

One Is For the Volume Control and the other for Switching tracks on the Cd player. I hope this is right

I had my truck for about 6 months before I knew about the storage console underneath the center seat.:)

Mutt, do you have sirius radio installed? If not, does anyone with a RC have it? I want to know where the antenna is mounted if you do.

They mounted mine right on the roof just up from the back of the cab. I didn't know what it was till I talked to someone without Sirius.

I wouldn't trust it Annu. I have went as low as 30 miles on the cummins and that should be good for 1.5 gallons or so. But the gauge was showing bone dry. Plus I think the fuel pump is located inside the tank and it is not a good idea to go below 1/4 tank or so. The fuel recirculates and helps keep the pump from ending prematurely.

When mine says 50 miles, I usually can put in 29-30 gallons....and at 12mpg, I'd say it's about right....
