Having done:
1) Oil Change
2) Rear Diff Fluid Change
3) Radiator Flush
4) Spark Plug Change
5) Transmission Fluid Change
6) Clean Fuel Injectors

--I confirmed with the service tech that an actual Viper Tech would do the work on my truck and have all the correct synthetic fluids put in.
Anyone have an idea of what kind of a bill I can/should expect from a dealership? And is there anything else I should have done? FYI, truck has 24K miles on it and it's an '05.

Uhhmmm.......What kind of relationship do you have with your local bank??? :D My friend has a hemi and his cost in the $600 range I think.

It should cost about (1) full wallet. :)
In other words, a ton more than if you did it yourself.

COST TO DO IT YOURSELF:
- Oil Change: about $70, including filter.
- Rear Diff. Fluid Change: About $20.
- Radiator Flush: About $15 + water.
- Spark Plug Change: About $40.
- Transmission Fluid Change: About $50.
- Clean Fuel Injectors: About: $10.
---------------------------------------------------------
TOTAL: About $205 + water and (1) weekend day.

- Having known that you've done the work yourself (and properly): Priceless.
- Being sure that Jimmy "The Clutch" Smith didn't take your truck to the lunchtime drags at the local high school: Uber-priceless.

Can I ask what dealership you would recommend in the San Bernardino area. I cannot do business with the jacked up dealership (Victorville Motors) in my area. I would like a dealership I could trust to do basic maintenance while my warranty is in effect. Thank you for any recommendations :D

Moss Motors is a trust worthy dealership. Been around for a long time and family owned.

Thank you! - I was going to try the one in San Bernardino. Or is Riverside better?

they're both have the same requirements and owners. but they'll take care of you. they've been around a long time. I believe the smaller one is the san bernardino dealership...smaller is sometimes better.

Thank you. The San Bernardino one is the closest. I talked to the service manager one day and he seemed like he could meet my requirements :D The only problem is I wanna watch more than any of the dealers like. :( :D

what dealership did you decide to go with ??

does your exhaust have electrical or mechanical sims ??

thanks.

:D

Considering the miles I think some of the things your wanting done is a bit pre-mature however since your going in a bit early for those you'll want to consider power steering fluid flush as well as brake fluid flush.

If your at all semi comfortable with a wrench in your hand most of these maintenance tasks can easily be accomplished in your own garage. If your not but willing to try I'll bet there's at least one SRT owner/member who could help walk you through most if not all of these on your to do list.

rear diff fluid is due at 15k, spark plugs at 30k. auto trans every 15k. and manual is not listed but I do my every 15k.

I was thinking of 3, 4 & 6. Will have to double check spark plug interval as I remember reading in service manual 50K. I replace coolant every other year regardless of miles and fuel injector cleaning? Never have on any vehicle. Replaced them yes but never cleaned them. I've been doing my manual trans and rear diff every 10K. Fact is I'm guilty of over maintenancing my vehicles. :p

$150 for an oil change.. wow.. just wow! I am so glad i don't live in whatever area your dealership is in. That is just insane.. i'd end up doing most of those things myself if that is what they charged here. I just pay their flate $75 an hour here to have the viper tech at the local dealership handle oil changes/diff changes etc.. and i provide the fluids. (stupid to pay the dealership $6-$9 a quart for oil).. bottom line is an oil change with the dealership providing a filter runs around $25.. and yes that is using a viper tech.. not some little grease monkey.

First off, THANK YOU to everyone for their input. Greatly appreciated.

The truck has 25K miles on it now. And as far as I know, none of the maintainence has been done. It's time...

:D

I ended up going with Bob Lamphere Dodge in Beaverton, Oregon. That's where I bought the truck and I trust them.

Cool. I'll talk to the service tech and see what he thinks...

OK, quick update. Makes me wish I was better with a wrench. Everything ended up costing me around $1100... You can see here. Feel free to comment.

So, I will assume you will not be able to sit down for the next two weeks after that screwing.:(

I just went back and looked. Good old Bob Lambhere (or however that dick spells his name). That explains a lot right there.
