Just ordered 2 srt challengers

Great dealer. I got one with a six speed and one automatic. Should have them in July.

One question is the tranny is a modified version of the viper. If I was going to do a mod should the first thing be the clutch plate?
 
Don't sweat the clutch Seth, My truck has 39000 mi. on the original clutch and still going strong. The Challenger should even be easier on clutchs because of less weight
 
I would think that any mod that is out there for the 6.1 would automatically work wouldn't it?
 
May be some slight differences...especially with the PCM....you are going to have a real LSD rear in the six speed with a 3.73 gear (I believe that is correct...definitely not the 3.06 like the auto)...
 
must be 09's my 08 should be here in a couple of weeks i hope
 
heard they were changing the steering on the 09's too making them quicker
 
Actually the srt rear end for the manual is a 3.92 .

Both are Hemi orange.

Hemi orange is a '08 color only for srt 8's. Only available if you want a R/T in '09. For '09 the orange went away on the srt 8 and they are going to make red. I tryed to look up challengers on the Dodge web site, and all they show to build your own is '08's. Someone posted a vid all about it a little while back. Has something changed?

Edit: I just went to the Dodge web site and read that Dodge has added Hemi Orange to the option list. Cool deal. They are listening to what people want.

The option sheet for the car is listed over at challenger talk. Hemi was always a color for the 09's they just didn't announce it. Also mygig is available for the rt's now. There are enough differences between the rt & srt to make the srt a better choice.

as far as I know the 09's can't be ordered yet... there has been a delay in production for 08's due to fit and finish...
 
I thought you ordered these back in april around the 15th?

but I dont think you'll see them in July, the 08's like Mopar said are delayed let alone the 09's.

I changed my 08 from hemi orange to black, with all three options:p performance tires, the mygig and the roof of sun:D
 
There's a guy over at SRT/C that can order and sell '09 challengers for under MSRP. He also said the discount will get better.
 
I got the allocation back in April, but placed the order last week. The 08's are rolling of now and they are building 54 a day.
