I came across this post this morning and was just wondering if others feel this way too.

"they are not peeps with a truck it is spamers trying to sell crap ,,,mods are not doing their jobs but have plenty time to give the contributing members crap instead"

Because, I'll tell you, I'll gladly step aside and take back the 20 hours or more a week I give to trying to keep this place civil and get rid of all the bullshit that most of you don't ever see or know about.

I'm not looking for a bunch of praise or pats on the back, just wondering if others think this is really what is going on here.
 
Nope, I dont think that is the situation here (mods not doing their job).....I am a mod myself on the SRT-C forums...I cant be there all the time...
 
Bob, somebody didn't agree with the way you treated them......ie, you thought you were being a good moderator and they thought you overstepped your bounds on a different topic....then they took an opportunity to latch onto something obvious in the newer post, but they did so because they are still pissed about the old issue....

Send them a PM or email, get to the root, and get passed it....

That, or just tell Mikey to stop being such a baby :D

Seriously, revisit their original issue and come to some middle ground...

My two cents :p

Like I said, I didn't start this thread to get pats on the back. I was seriously wondering if anyone else thought like this.

I personally think that the last thing we do here is give members crap, I think we are pretty lenient with what is allowed. I know that I wrestle with the decision every time I have to edit or delete something, I don't like censoring people at all. But, sometimes that's what we have to do to keep the peace.

And I did ask this person for examples of what he meant, though I have yet to hear back. All I was told was that I might have taken this out of context??
 
I love the way things are around here. It is very open and I don't think it is overly censored at all. Keep up the good work.
 
Bob... I have a little saying that gets me by during the day.... "It's just appliances". Now that may sound weird, but please let me explain.

People get so worked up over their day-to-day business (ANY business). The littlest things can seem like MONUMENTAL problems at times. I ship appliances (washers, dryers, refrigerators, etc) for a manufacturer. Even in this business, people can get their panties in a knot over the smallest things. And I have to do my part to correct such problems with a sense of urgency... but, at the end of the day... "It's just appliances". :eek: It's not like I'm shipping human hearts, or lungs, or something. :dontknow:

So, my only advise to you would be, when the bullshit gets too deep, and everyone is freaking out over the piddly shit.... just tell yourself "It's just a forum", do what you know you have to do to resolve the issue (not everyone is going to agree with you, but that doesn't matter).... and just move on with your day. :)

I don't know the context of the quoted comment above, and I don't really care to know.... I know it was something small and pity, and that's enough for me.

Hey Bob, I don't take the SPAM post serious anyway. with the number of posts we get here there gone in a day anyway....except when we make jabs at the spammer that they will never see. So I really don't give two shits about those kinds of posts and usually just ignor them. So if there are those that want to get all riled up by them, then thats their issue and the rest of us will just move on with our lives.....

I think the Mods here do a great job, I wouldn't have those jobs for anything. I know, with the forums on my site, posting people's car photos, event photos and everything else required to maintain an active web site, it can become a pain in the butt.

I've had the same issues with folks raising hell because I deleted an offensive post or someone flamed someone else. I tell them to find another place if they aren't happy. I own the damn thing and let them use it for free. My site, my rules.
 
I sold my truck 2 years ago, and im still around. Shit, I love this place. Mod's are the best here compared to other forums.
 
I saw it soon after it was posted Bob. I thought for a few minutes about moving on it and than decided not because of who it was from bud. Not worth it, not worth it at all. I personally think you're the second best Moderator on this site.:D :p :congrats:
