As some of you may recall I have been going thru some really mixed feelings on my truck. I don't drive it much (I have a work car) and I have just about all the bolt on mods I can do. It's a blast and I love it but I get bored real easy, lol.

A few weeks ago I came real close to trading the truck for a Viper GTS (one of my dream cars). Well, anyhow I had the truck out this weekend and kind of rekindled the fire so to speak. :D

I am about 90% intent on keeping it again, but if I do keep it I will have to feed the mod demon in me again. My delima is dropping 3K-4K on a N/A build which will net me < 550 rwhp. Or dropping considerably more on a S/C. Factored into this decision is that my better half is not very crazy about me spending anything more on the beast.

Thoughts? Comments?:dontknow:

TIA

As far as the truck is concerned, do what makes you happy. As far as the wife is concerned, don't listen to me because I never could make a relationshipwork.:dontknow:

Keep it and drop a little bit of cash on some NOS.
Not a bad idea $$ wise. But I am not a big fan of nitrous.

The N/A build I am contemplating include a huge and very lopey cam.

How about some some new gears if you don't already have them.
I think the 4.10s are better, especially if you continue to build hp (over 500 rwhp) .:burnout:

What about buying one of Roe's SC? Install it yourself. I dont know how much they are but you'll save bucks doing it yourself. That'll put a new smile on your face!!

I'd love to but I can't see myself spending that kind of $$$. You are talking about 7K to 8K because I don't have a VecII or Meth. :(

Damn the money....we'll just write a bad-check.....:D

I thought the price from Roe included the VEC2 and meth kit?:dontknow: You might want to give those guys a call and get a real deal answer.

Even if the $6495 includes the VEC2 and meth, it's still alot more than I can do. :(

I have seen used Paxtons go for 4K-5K. Even that would be stretching it for me. :dontknow:

I can get the NA build for about 3K without headwork and 4K with headwork.

Don't get rid of that sweet ride, glad you are thinking it over

Have you done the clutch upgrade?

Not familiar with the build.....what is involved in that $4k if you don't mind the question :dontknow:

Thanks,

Jason

I'm with Red...............The Paxton is the best bang for the buck after a cat delete....

I was very dissatisfied with my truck's fun factor until I got the Paxton....

.....and used ones are out the from time to time......

Good Luck .......................happy hunting....

OK. Let me be no help at all.;)

I too have the Viper GTS itch, and it ain't goin' away!

Found a 15K mile '02 GTS in Rhode Island last week. Sold.:(
Found a 22K mile '01 GTS in Pittsburgh, PA last week. Sold.:(

Now I know of a 3K mile '02 GTS about 100 miles away. To the best of my knowledge it's still for sale.

And Yesterday (Sunday) a very local dealer (like 6 miles away!) posted up an ad for an '01 Sapphire GTS, but didn't include the miles, interior color, or the pricetag. I call them up today to find out it's got the black interior (I'm not fond of that Connelly leather color:p ), ONE-Thousand-Sixty miles on the odometer, AND it's an ACR!!:rock: Asking $72,900. This one is real, r-e-a-l, pretty, but not only is it way more than I had planned on spending, but I'm also afraid it'll end up being another Cobra R car for me. You know, I bought the R new, and managed to put 1,008 miles on it in 8 years, then sold it. Screw that, I wanna Viper I can drive, enjoy, and not be afraid to put miles on.

Decisions, decisions...:dontknow:  :dontknow:

Custom grind cam, Roller rockers, valve cover spacers, beehive springs, titanium retainers, pushrods, ported heads, tune and labor for my builder.

I'm running the oem clutch till it goes. Then I'll replace it. Right now its still grabbin hard, good as new lol.

Same here, but I cant see myself selling my truck in this market. Plus, I would like to see what prices do on the 'older' GTS's when the 08 come out ;)
