Keeping/Feeding the SRT10 Fever

OK. Let me be no help at all.;)

I too have the Viper GTS itch, and it ain't goin' away!

Found a 15K mile '02 GTS in Rhode Island last week. Sold.:(
Found a 22K mile '01 GTS in Pittsburgh, PA last week. Sold.:(

Now I know of a 3K mile '02 GTS about 100 miles away. To the best of my knowledge it's still for sale.

And Yesterday (Sunday) a very local dealer (like 6 miles away!) posted up an ad for an '01 Sapphire GTS, but didn't include the miles, interior color, or the pricetag. I call them up today to find out it's got the black interior (I'm not fond of that Connelly leather color:p ), ONE-Thousand-Sixty miles on the odometer, AND it's an ACR!!:rock: Asking $72,900. This one is real, r-e-a-l, pretty, but not only is it way more than I had planned on spending, but I'm also afraid it'll end up being another Cobra R car for me. You know, I bought the R new, and managed to put 1,008 miles on it in 8 years, then sold it. Screw that, I wanna Viper I can drive, enjoy, and not be afraid to put miles on.

Decisions, decisions...:dontknow:  :dontknow:
It would make a spirited daily driver. Bad roads and heavy traffic would spoil the fun. Guess that's why a lot are just garage queens.

Same here, but I cant see myself selling my truck in this market. Plus, I would like to see what prices do on the 'older' GTS's when the 08 come out ;)

I guess right now it's impossible to tell for sure, but I'm starting to see some '03 SRT Vipers down in the 50's,,, right with many GTS cars.:dontknow:

You gotta admit, the Gen2's are purdier...:star:

It would replace my truck, so it would be a toy - nothing more.:burnout:

My Focus is under warranty until 9/09 ---> Any Weather, Go Anywhere, Anytime, Beater!!:D

Why not have all 3? 99 Viper GTS, SRT-10 QC and a 70 Cuda. :dontknow:

:D

As some of you may recall I have been going thru some really mixed feelings on my truck. I don't drive it much (I have a work car) and I have just about all the bolt on mods I can do. It's a blast and I love it but I get bored real easy, lol.

A few weeks ago I came real close to trading the truck for a Viper GTS (one of my dream cars). Well, anyhow I had the truck out this weekend and kind of rekindled the fire so to speak. :D

I am about 90% intent on keeping it again, but if I do keep it I will have to feed the mod demon in me again. My delima is dropping 3K-4K on a N/A build which will net me < 550 rwhp. Or dropping considerably more on a S/C. Factored into this decision is that my better half is not very crazy about me spending anything more on the beast.

Thoughts? Comments?:dontknow:

TIA
Well I was in your same dilema about 2 months ago. So I started looking on ebay and found a '67 coronet with a 451 stroker in it. I drove to Missouri, looked it over, and brought it home. I started driving it daily,it has a BIG convertor in it, big lopey cam, turns about 3000 rpm at 60, and runs low 12's on street tires. After driving it about 200 miles in 2 weeks I took out the SRT,washed her up and enjoyed the gear grabbing, tire smoking fun all over again like she was new! Don't sell,if possible drive something else for a while and come back to it, feels just like it did when new!!
P.S. My wife loves old Mopars and speed too,so it was an easy sell!!

Low mile, clean GTS's are going for mid 40's right now. :burnout:

Maybe 99's and older, but not the one's I seem to be looking at.

I found a 2000 ACR w/ 4,400 miles on it, 51K. Problem is it's for sale by a private owner, which I'm kind of leary of. Been screwed before buying a used car from a private owner... :dontknow:

That's cause your looking at ACRs.:D A 97-99 GTS with under 15K miles can be had for anywhere from $42k to $48K.

Well, I also know of a '99 ACR w/ 31K miles, basically stock except for cat-delete and cat-back, for ~$45K.:D

I'd seriously consider this one if I could get it for under 40K, and keep my truck.

I also want a GTS, but will have to hide it in a distant corner of the garage from my wife. I drove Sean Roe's GTS for two days while he was finishing the tune on my sc. It was thrilling...but...at 62 (63 now!) it is almost impossible to get into and out of...it is really tight and a real pita the second or third time you have to exit or enter. I'm 6'1" and about 195, still in good shape (can kick everyone's ass in racquetball) but entry and exit after two days was a real ordeal. I still want one, but I know deep down that I will hate it after a few months.

How about toughing it out, and getting an SRT 8 Challenger???? You and significant other would love that new beauty...with balls!
