Keyless Push Button Start..KOOL..

Altima's are push button start....just keep the key in your pocket...hit the button on the door and it unlocks.....keep it in your pocket, sit down, hit the brake, and push the start button....kewl concept, but keeping the keys and cell phone in the same pocket can cause it not to work :(

I know I am going to be the odd one here but, I don't need, or like all this electronic crap they are putting on vehicles these days. To me it's just a bunch of useless weight. If I could I would get ride of the power locks, overhead console, steering wheel radio controls, airbags, power seat, power pedals, heated mirrors, sliding back glass, key fob remote bullshit, power windows, sound insulation, cruise control, and some other bullshit that adds pounds to these trucks. I believe in "power to weight ratio", that means if you get rid of weight, you don't need to make as much power to go faster.

I know a lot of the members here want this stuff, and that's fine. But if Dodge ever made one of these trucks minus this stuff, we would all be in the 11 second bracket. Always remember, it's "power' to "weight".

I know I'm showing my damn age again.

Good Question! Wasn't thinking about it, but yea, How? Another button on the remote I guess?

The button is in the dash like our trucks....only difference is you dont insert a key....push to start...push to stop..

I always thought it was lame to have a push to start button but we still had to stick a key in and turn it. :(
I DID too but now I love it. Sure it's corny as hell but how cool is it pushing the button. :D Still blows peoples minds when I take them driving or show them. Now with Steve's Batman logo glowing button it's going to blow even more minds. How can a remote starter button system work with a manual truck? The clutch must be engaged to start it? :dontknow:

Perfect for you, most extra crap removed!:D

But I have to agree with you.

Back in the day, (I'm old too, cough 55! ;) )
you could order a stripper with the biggest motor without adding all the extra weight and power robbers.:slug:

Cracks me up watching TV shows when they say:

"Can't see why someone bought this car (insert Hemi, 427, etc here)
Without power steering and brakes, etc.

That's why the old muscle cars with the extras are $$$.
Nobody bought them that way. Except for some grandpa! :D

Power windows no way! My first car was a Road Runner with pop-out read windows!

I knew it was going downhill when a manual trans was no longer standard but air was.:(

Still nice to have the toys in the everyday driver though. :driver:

I have a buddy that has a benz and when the key or phob or what ever it is called it enables the vehicle to be started then you have to push the start button then it starts. why would a manual or auto matter it would not start until it would normally start just with out turning the key ???

True, I didn't read the first post correctly. I thought he was referring to the SRT8 Jeep style ones where you can start it OUTSIDE the vehicle. To me it seems pointless, chuck a key in a start it normally, spend that dosh somewhere else on the truck. Although.....lol.....it would be cool. :D

You talking about remote start?:dontknow:

This is different, would be great for the my wife.

She keeps losing her keys.

With this she would never have to take the keys out of her damn purse!

z-man has remote start on his RC CE.. It's a sweet mod...

I would not get rid of my push to start for anything. The lame part is sticking the key in the ignition.

that is why I like this....still have the button and just leave the key in the pocket...no digging out of a pocket on tight jeans...

Who can we get to make it??? I would definitely want one!

Seems like you could re-wire the switch (Big Red Button) to be "constantly on". :dontknow:

Not with the 05-06. You'd still need to the transponder near-by. . . ?

Anyways, if they want it, they're going to get it. May as well make it easy for them!!! :D
