What is the size of the hole that is already cut? Is it square or round? The 9 side to side?

Yea, the shop is correct. The previous owner had S10L7's. The cutout for the S10L7 is 9 and 5/16

Back in my 93 Mustang, I had all Alpine. Head unit, EQ, amps, subs. Including an Alpine cell phone (that was really hard to get). Keep in mind, handhelds came out right about that time. I worked for a cell phone company.
I think I still have this phone in a box somewhere. It won't work anywhere (analog)
