Famoso had a private track day today, 2-24-2008 ( this event had been cancelled twice.) As was expected the starting line after three days of rain was NOT the best. First run of the day netted a 2.29 60' and 13.148 @ 109.31mph. Ouch! It gets better.....second run of the day I power shift from 2nd to 3rd and my JEDI shift handle breaks off in my hand!!!! I drove home with the nub of a shifter and changed back to the original Gen IV shifter handle then back to the track. I get back at 3:30 pm and let the truck cool till about 4:30 ....back to the staging lanes and a New Jeep Cherokee SRT8 wants to line up with me... Nice Jeep... anyway I pull a horrible 2.060 60' to his 1.93 60' but from there on it was no contest ...I ran 12.769 @ 110.15MPH to his losing 13.370 @ 102.27. I let the truck cool till 5:30 PM and make the last run of the day ...and you guessed it the Jeep wants me again. I guess he hoped I would miss a shift or something. Race 2 I bog at 2500 RPM but get a 1.993 60' as a reward (first time under 2.00 today) , he turns 1.913 for a 60' but his reaction time of .421 to my .205 means this race is over!!! I turned my BEST SPEED EVER with a 12.672 @110.96MPH!!!!! The Jeep turns a respectable 13.242 @103.09 MPH So there you go, old Grampa Trainman shifts to another victory....sorry no video man today, I was all alone...Brad where are you when we need you!!!

good kill i think the guy in the SRt-8 jeep doesn't know how to drive it right tho... bone stock had a buddy of mine run a 12.79 in his SRT8 jeep

Hey Tooloe...like I said our starting line was Horrible today! I normally have a 1.825 to 1.860 for a 60' time today I had 2.290, 2.220, 2.060, 1.993 man was it frustrating!!!!

Most times I have seen posted for stock Jeeps is low/mid 13s....I have only seen modded jeeps get into the 12s (I have been on the SRT8 forums for over 2 yrs) with maybe an exception or 2 at a track like Cecil county were DA is usually negative....link to timeslips at SRT Connection..

.....so I would say the Jeep did an average run if it was stock......but your truck must have some big time mods..:dontknow:

Awsome Kill man. I also thought that those jeeps were suppose to be bad a$$ They may be but not a 10!!!!

more of less how to make the TQ management work correctly.. i'll see if i can get ahold of him..and see if i can find his time slip.... he does not have a slip for the 12.79 but i witnessed it but he does have one for a 12.81.....they are very quick.. but if you can hang with the jeep out of the hole you'll run them down..cause i eat him up on top end

Very nice ;) You are a shiftin sumbich :D

With those trap speeds, would guess you are laying down some nice hp/ft lbs !

trainman... aren't u one of the guys with the MOFO headers?? :p must be the headers... either that or your master shiftin abilities.... last time I saw your truck the shifter was was just shorter but the box was stock.... pretty damn impressive... I never got my RC in the 12's @ LACR...

Its a Drivers Race. You could have a super fast car and put a horrible driver in it and he will run 15's:D

The driver is important in getting the best time out of all the SRT vehicles except the Jeep....other than some minor adjustments like what RPM to brake TQ the Jeep is a push the go pedal and hold on...
