Killer Asteroid

Well we almost died!! WTF ????? Crazy thing is they didnt even know this giant bitch was around till two days before it passed by us. How is that possible. It passed less than 50k miles from earth (twice the height of satellites) and is 69 feet by 154 feet. How could they not see something that big flying towards earth?

No flicken joke, I was thinking the other day about what I would do if something like that were to happen either while I am asleep or in another country. SCARY! But realistically it's nothing to be concerned about. People here in Africa actually do fine without what we consider basic necessities (i.e. running water, electricity, :dontknow: ESPN2).

Jupiter actually keeps most of the "big" ones away from us.... The gravitational pull of that planet and our (relatively) close proximity to the Sun keep us safe.

........ Now if there is a asteroid that breaks through... say the size of Rhode Island... well, we're toast (literally). But, they will see it coming YEARS before it gets here.

It wouldn't be cool.... Mass suicides, killings, looting... especially if we only have months/days to prepare. If we knew about it a few years before hand, I'm guessing folks would ban together and try to figure out how to change it's flight path.

LOL... yeah, they could'a used a "heads-up".

There was a pretty good sized one hit Siberia in the early 1900's. It was about the same size and took out 500 square miles. I mean FLATTENED 500 sq miles!
