Does any one make anything to monitor the knock retard on the 10? I know a buddy of mine has a dash hawk through msd that reads out his knock on his Mazda Speed 6. On my gtp I run the hp tuners program through my laptop and it reads out my knock retard along with about every other vital reading. I was just wondering if they made something like that for the 10.

Any ideas on what it is? I want to try my best to keep from popping a piston.

What year do you have? I don't know if the 04's have knock sensors?

You can hook up a scanner to monitor the knock.

I have a MSD knock sensor also on mine.

Yeah I got an 04. Still pretty new on the engine just looking for a bit of protection.

I use a vec3 on my 05QC. I know the vec monitors the knock sensor voltage. This is of while you are tuning of course. Do you want to be able to monitor knock sensor voltages during tuning or all the time?

How far are you from Macon, GA? Or Summit in GA? I can show you my MSD knock sensor setup to see if you like that?

There is no definite indication of knock, more of a varied threshold of indication where you have to determine on your own when the knocking occurs for small instances of knocking. Real bad knocking, it will definitely tell you the occurrence. You have a dial for sensitivity on the side to tune it to your engine.

When I slightly bent two of my piston rods with NOS, this device was blaring at me. Probably helped saved my engine alerting me to the issue.

I'm in lexington ky. that looks like a decint setup. Is there a hole you put the sensor in?. Is there a good spot to mount the box?

VSP sells a kit to add knock sensors to the 04 blocks. Pricey and you would need your PCM/wiring to support the sensors (If you wanted the PCM to do it for you).

I'm having a hard time finding the vsp. What kinda pricey are we talkin about??

The very best knock sensor is a highly experienced tuner with a fine ear.

You could make a trip to North Florida and visit Sean Roe.

hell and i thought someone was going to walk up behind me and hit me in the head
