I live in South Carolina, We Have No Inspections whatsoever.... The Noise or Pollution is No concern of Mine or my Home State. Having said that, I have been to EVERy muffler shop in town looking to Have my Cats removed. And here are the excuses i get.
The first guy, Said it was against the law for him to remove them, I said OK. How about i Cut them off myself at home, Without removing the mid-pipes, Then bring the truck to you, Can you weld me Pipes, where my Alleged Catalytic converters Supposedly USED to Be???
And still he said no. What the Hell???
The only thing i can think to do, Is remove my mid-pipes, Find a Welder in town willing to Fab strait pipes, where my CATs used to be, And that seems like just as much work as paying For new mid-pipes....
I have someone Giving me a Great Deal, On a set of Cattless mids for a QC, How much work will it be to convert them to fit an RC.. I know somebody said that you would need to cut some Pipe off. But do you only need to cut a Part that is a section of Strait pipe. Or do you need to shorten a Part that has a curve in it??? Im sure somebody on here knows, Help me out here.[/QUOTE
Very easy to make them fit.Just shorten the straight section.Don't forget the mechanical or electronic sims.
Much cheaper when you find a shop to just remove them, however, there may come a day when you might need the stock mids.Just a thought.
