My first run at some fire effects on a ball with no shading.... with a deformed spikey hairdo...:D hey... wait a minute.. that hairdo looks a bit like mikeys.. huh....

I did not apply the fire to the truck image yet.. just messing around with fire settings, and trying to get it to look right... but its not bad for a first run at it... it took my machine nearly 2 minutes to render this one frame!!! I think I need to add a supercharger to my computer.. and here I thought 3.0ghz, with 2GB Ram, and 1 Terabyte of disk was sufficent....

I had to use Software rendering which means that I could not render using the best quality... so I am going to upgrade my motherboard, CPU, and video card, so that I can offload the rendering to the hardware... meaning that it will allow me to render using photo realistic... and probably drop render time from 1 min 31 seconds, to under 30 seconds...

I will probably sell my mother board, CPU, and Video card here on site.. its a great unit... ABIT UL8, AMD 3500+ CPU, and ATI Radeon 9550 w/ 256mb ram video card... the MB support DDR400 ram, up to 8GB.
 
What do I need to do to get ahold of that software Mr Swenka? :dontknow: :rock:

If you actively going to a college, you can buy it from Academic Superstore for $389.00 (otherwise it will cost you $7,000!!)

Well..I have now ordered upgrades to my PC...

AMD 4200+ Athalon XP2 Dual Core CPU
512mb PCI Express 16 (CrossFire) video card
Motherboard to handle this stuff...

So once I get it.. I will be able to offload the rendering to the hardware allowing me to make use of better effects... but it still wont come close to what Cold can do..... :D
 
Ok.. have not forgot about this. Finally got my computer put back together and working last week... now as soon as I return from my family visit in Iowa I will be working on this, as well as the Line lock kit...
