Line lock

Thanks guys. I'm going to finish the wiring tonight, and was hoping to do the lines tomorrow, then test on Friday before heading to the soiré at Boomer's.

I'll do some calling around tomorrow.
Maybe the dealership has something....:)

I've got a bunch of those at work. I could send you a few if you're not in a huge hurry.
Stingray- I'd love a pic of the ends of the adapters, if you have a camera handy.
I want to make sure I picked up the right ones today. Not a lot of tech help at AutoZone. :)
Thanks!

Well, I'm home from work now. So I don't have access to the adapters. Can you send a pic? I also forgot to mention you will need 2 plugs for the solenoid too.

3 more auto parts stores tonight. Nothing. Not even close.

Here's a couple of shots of the adapters I picked up earlier:

Let me know what you think.

Is this some type of bizarro part or something that a normal NAPA/AutoZone should have in stock? No one behind the counter seems to understand what I'm looking for.

I have a last-ditch contact for tomorrow. This "1 hour installation" is now going on it's eleventh day. :)

The adapters for the solenoid are supposed to be a pipe threaded fitting (the threads are tapered). Your fittings in the pics look like bubble flare adapters. They look like fittings to screw into the master and ABS that will then accept a double flare.

Didn't you have problems with the EZ-Lift too. :D :D
The "Line Of Fire" was what was causing issues with that installation. There's no mention of it on any forum, and the tech support at EZ Lift had never installed one with a LOF light. Not sure if I was the first, but I was *their* first regarding that issue.

With this thing, I'm doing stuff no one has done before- namely the "brake lights on when the line lock is on" wiring setup.

Think it's easy? Come on down! :D

I'm one of those guys who has to have it done right, or not at all. There's no middle ground with me. There's no half-assed or 'close enough'. There is no B-Team.

Thanks. I'll stop by the 'last ditch attempt' shop tomorrow and find out what they don't have.

Anyone want the ones in the pics? $0.89 each. Free shipping. :)

Kevin, I for one, read your material word by word...and greatly appreciate your approach to doing things right. I have no patience, no talent, and no mechanical ability...your adventures are like reading a revealing sex novel to me...I love it!

Your traveling in uncharted territory for me as well. I've never dealt with the brake systems (other than pads etc.) or installed a line lock. It's just when I saw that you were having problems I saw an opportunity to tease you a little. Sorry, I won't be in OH until August (Nats...yaaaaayyyy!!)

So you didn't graduate from the "Stinker Skool of Mekaniks" where the best tool in the shop is duct tape followed closely by bailing wire. I'm sure you'll get it right despite the little setbacks.

Okay, here are pics of the latest adapters.

Please SupremeBeing, let these be the right ones....

EXCELLENT!
Thanks for all your help, Stingray!

I may finish the DIY tutorial this month sometime! LOL

NOTE: The connection to the Master Cylinder is BUBBLE FLARE (ISO METRIC).
It is NOT double-flared.

Though the manual instructs on both Double-Flared and ISO Metric, I have yet to find a Double-Flared line on the truck.
There is no mention of ANY kind on the connection type on ANY of the brake lines in the Service Manual.

Time for *one f-ing more* line to be made.

Hurst is the most popular.
Jegs.com sells a few different kits.
