Sorry about the crappy pics all I had was a cell phone and he was about 25-30 yards away...I've never seen a bald eagle in Arkansas before and certainly never that close. Damn they are BIG!!!

Came around a bend in the intercostal waterway in Florida, while casting for Redfish, using just the trolling motor...and there were three mature bald eagles on a sandbar eating a dead fish...magnificent birds...and yes, huge!

These birds are one of the reasons I want to spend a few weeks in Alaska in the future.

When I lived in Jacksonville, I rescued a baby bald eagle on the archery range! He was so young he didn't have his "Bald" head yet! I have pictures somewhere at my kids house. We used to see them quite a bit in Jax. Still see them occasionally down here in O'town.

They are beautiful birds! A sighting that is hard to forget!!

Nice shots Steve!!:rock::rock:

got one out the back door with a nest on a cell phone tower. truly magnificant bird. love watching them build they're nests.

You don't have to go that far. Up around Sauk City, Wisconsin they get about 20 - 30 birds every winter. The water below the dam never freezes and it is pretty shallow and the eagles are there for about 5 weeks to feed.

Thanks Paul, I will make that trip this year!

How is the build going? Speaking of soaring with eagles...

That awsome.
They got taken off the endangered species list this last year. It something that I hope my grand children will be able to see also someday.

Take a cruise up to Alaska.

My wife went a couple years ago and she has pictures of them somewhere. They were like god damn sea gulls. They were everywhere.

Lauri and I saw them like that in Canada on a fishing trip a few years ago, but man there was something about one sitting in my own pasture that really touched me...I guess I'm getting old...:eek: :(
