I have read over and over about engines blowing up. Was this with a power adder or stock? I just plan exhaust and CAI. Would it be safe or should I worry?

your safe with that!!!

btw, welcome to the club....your in downey? cool:D

Welcome to the club.....dont worry about blowing...the number that have blown are small minority and most of the ones that did had issues....just a handful blew for no apparent reason..

Bienvenidos...............

Well, he IS from Downey, ya know.........

Welcome to the asylum.........

Thanks to all, glad to be here. Yes I live in Downey. A bit about me...I have always driven Mopars. My first car was a 70 dodge swinger 340. 30 over. TRW forged pistons and forged crank. Purple shaft cam. This car was fast. The wipeblades would come up when I floored it. In the garage is a triple black stripe delete 68 charger RT 440 4 spd. Next to it is a 70 challenger 440 auto that is hemi orange and blk vinyl. I also have a 04 Durango SLT hemi. Now I want the 10. A black one so if I ever tow the charger or the challenger I would match hahaha.

These motors are solid stock, especially the 06's. I can't say I have heard of anyone having a motor go with only an exhaust and CAI. I also believe the QC's are more problem free. The RC's have been known to melt a clutch or two if you drive them hard.

Welcome to the Family

if you want a truck that is fun and a challenge to drive then get a REGULAR cab. And stock for stock they blow away the quad cabs. I raced a QC a bunch and never did he win

Welcome to the RBC, and BTW Tim is full of shit, I would venture to say more new Corvettes have bit the dust than these trucks. If you look at percentages they are pretty damn strong.

:D You'll be fine with ANY mod, forced induction paxton or Roe, it only happens when you try to go above an beyond the initial tune and try to get major hp.

which is a really big bug:D

Very few have blown that wernt pushed very hard. There is always gonna be those random ones that go, but with exhaust and CIA, your good to go.

And as far as clutch's go.............stock hydraulics are the problem when you launch hard.

Good luck, I hope you find your perfect truck.

Welcome from Beverly Hills. You'll be fine with a stock or mildly modded engine. The only problem is staying that way espeecially if you hit the track. BTW you should join us at the next SoCal Racetrack GTG. I think 1 will be coming up soon.
