Looking to buy SRT-10 Ram

Been looking around at 08 Jeep GC SRT-8's, but I think I decided on the Ram. I currently have an extended cab chevy, and will miss ditching the back seat for the SC, but I know it is substantially faster than the QC. Is it possible to run the QC in the mid 12's With fairly minor mods (I consider minor anything that doesn't require separating the top end from the motor and keeping it NA.)

Also, My only stick experience comes from a 77 k5 blazer used for off roading, and had a 300hp/400tq motor. How hard will it be to learn to race this at the strip? Only other manual I have driven (but didn't own) was a z06.

Also I saw the fastest QC was 10.73, which is incredible. I must give major props. What is the fastest SC? I don't plan on going anywhere near the times, just curious. Don't have the bank for those times :)

Nowwhat's QC (the 10.73) is the fastest period. No RC has been in the 10's that I am aware of.

There are a couple of RC's in the build process that will be in the 9's and one may be in the 8's but they are huge projects...one is a bottom up build of everything and the other is boosted and sprayed (read: "hosed").

As you have touched on, shifting to get lower ET's is one of the major problems...six speed transmissions require some expertise for rapid acceleration in the quarter mile. The QC's have the advantage of the automatic. This also managed the traction better than a manual with an iffy clutch.

Sounds to me like you should be looking for a QC! A cat delete, cpu flash, and a few other minor mods should get you into the 12's...the mid-12's will require a little more...maybe a 150 shot would be the best bet.

There will be two dozen opinions about this...but IMO the above will get you where you want to be.

Get a QC, do the compy flash, cal-tracs, exhaust, and funny gas and you'll be in the 12's for sure.
 
Get the RC, I was racing a QC at 1/8 mile in holt fl, He had a flashed computer and I was still handing him his ass , but both trucks are bad ass, The RC takes skill to drive , The QC not so much,,,,But get either one and you will not regret it
 
If you want to go faster, get a QC.
If you want to haul less babes, get a RC.

don't know love my qc and since my wife cant drive a stick it is handy for that lol.
 
Dude, shifting these things is easy. My vote is for a RC.
 
Whatever 10 you get just make sure it's Red. Stock for stock the QC is better for everyday life but the RC gets you there faster. If you can't decide between the two then do what VnmPwrd did............buy both.:burnout: :rock:
 
You want to have a vehicle that's mostly fun to drive? That would be a smaller vehicle with the same power and a clutch which would be an RC.

You want something to haul the kids around or for your wife to drive then the almost 6000lb QC is it.

Clutches are always more fun but shifting can become a P.I.T.A..

Your post suggest you are looking for a fast truck to run the quarter with.

Even though that whole concept is ridicules perhaps you should start with a
Lightning so if you can't shift it is an auto and you are carrying 1000Lb less weight than the QC so if you mod it to stock SRT power levels (cheap and fairly simple)with the same power you are 1 full second faster just from the weight difference.
Better yet a rail car should be a better weapon for the quarter:bebored:
Of the two Dodge products I would reccomend the RC for fun when you are not in heavy competition on the track!

I am sure racing farm tractors would be fun if you had others to race against and it would be only a matter of time until someone with enough money had a John Deer that would run 12's.
I bet someone already does!

I only mean to suggest that for the amount of cash some have invested in these large pickups getting them to run low 11's you could be enjoying a vehicle that would turn consistent high 7's if thrills are what you are seeking:bebored:

Lol, this is a college congrats present. Family said can't have car, or I'd be getting a c6 vette. Can't be 4x4, so no reason for a turbo diesel. SRT8 or SRT10 are really the only options :) Still trying to figure this out.

Tell em the SRT QC gets 12mpg on the freeway and the RC gets 15 or so but, the C6 Vette gets 28mpg and it is even holding a little resale value!

My C6 is a lot more fun than my truck but I like the truck also but still wish it was a RC.

Good God man, surely you wouldn't let your wife drive your truck. I guess you would take her to a perfectly good titty bar too.
