After seeing the Republican debates the other night, it seems apparent that the guy we need to nominate (i.e. the best qualified to go toe to toe against "the bitch from Hell") seems to be Rudy.....

I was so disappointed with the agility and facility of Fred Thompson in that debate.... I couldn't believe how usure he was of himself... None of the pundits on either side mentioned it... lots reasons why I'm sure... But Fred looked weak for some reason... Not to mention the fact that 3 most dominant words in his vocabulary seem to be "uh", "ah" and "um"..... it's very disquieting and does not engender confidence.

Of all the candidates, Rudy looked great, was quick to answer in a decisive, substantive manner and (as everyone agreed) was focus on the prime directive..... beating "the bitch".....who's name I will not mention...as I just brushed my teeth....:(

Whomever invitied the quasi-libertarian asshole may have done it for comic relief.... I can't even remember his name..... Oh yeah, "Paul"... what a weenie.

What did you guys think.....?

Well I have something to add although you prolly don't want to hear it. But this election is over Tim. For all intent and purpose that is. The Republicans will lose to whom ever gets the Democratic nod. Reason being George Bush. He cant get out of his own way and has brought that party to it's knees. You got to be kidding me right....Rudy has no shot at all ! He is qualified as a mayor and what else. He can't even carry the most powerful segment of his own party the religious right  He may get the nod for the Rep party because the other 5 are dullards and are irrelevant....McCain is too old.

People actually believe Hillary will do good....I personally would never vote for her because of her husband. What would make her reign so different from Bill's  Lying, cheating, stealing and sheer and utter vacillation on anything military orriented........Her Presidency will be known as the Menopause years :D Lord have Mercy on us all

I don't think the election is that wrapped up Mikey.

And I am not convinced that Rudy is the man...

I did not see the debate, so I can't comment directly, and that is why I didn't respond to this before, but hey....

I like Mitt Romney. But what do I know? :dontknow:

I don't agree that the election is already a foregone conclusion.

I think everyone may not be taking the "Hatred for Hillary" factor a bit too lightly.

As a Republican, I had hopes that Fred would step up and be a leader with fundamental conservative values. I might have been tempted to return to the fold...but there is no one that has declared to be in the race that comes close to meeting my personal needs.

So I will continue to embrace radical change as the tool to correct our national direction.

"Radical change"....................now, there's a euphemism....

I couldn't agree more regarding Rudys potential for the hot seat. And I'm not just saying that because of my locale. He is definitely very decisive persuasive and a roll up your sleeves lets get the job done type of guy. At times though he is a bit too impetuous . He might need to learn to be a bit more suave especially when it comes to foreign policy. He `can't run the world like he ran the NYPD, 'cause he might just be the first one to push the button! He just needs a chill pill and he has my vote.
The George Bushitis will be forgotton by election day..:D

Good perspective Steve...you probably have a better view of the man than most of us...I may have to look at him more closely.

Yes I have met him several times. Was invited to his birthday breakfast here on City Island in August. I am also aquainted with his partner Dan.
I have lots of respect for the man and hope he does well. Like I said he just needs to cool down a bit!

I think you are right about Rudy, Tim.... (eating crow right now  ) .... Fred Thompson was HIGHLY disappointing during the debate. :( And I even gave him money.  ........ I really liked what Rudy had to say. I think he has the cojones to get this shit done.

And the republican party is making "silent" (meaning not in the media...) progress. The war in Iraq is going MUCH better than most like to report, as of late. The Anbar Provence and Ramada (sp?) haven't had one casualty in over a week! :congrats:

I think the Republicans have a chance, even after our Comander-In-Goof's rule. He's getting lots of brownie-points over this mess in California.

Maybe Fred had a bad day [didnot see debate]:dontknow:

From all the recaps I have seen... He's been a little weak. :dontknow: :( I did watch the debate, and I have to say, he didn't impress me. It's too bad, because I really think he's got it head on straight.

Rudy is pro-choice ,pro gay,and anti 2nd Amendment.

One guess as to who I will NOT be voting for.

I like Mitt Romney or Mike Huckabee much better.

And Romney ONLY as a runner up to Huckabee.
