lost oil pressure

it is both a idle and driving issue. but the gauge my buddy has only has about 2 foot of hose.... but I was thinking that if I crank it up and it idles at normal pressure that I would not have to drive it. Because then I know it would be a sending unit or the gauge

Cut the oil filter apart that you took off your truck. Make sure the pleats aren't full of either aluminum or brassie-looking filings. If it is, DON'T drive your truck.

I've never seen a bad sending unit show low oil pressure. it either works or it doesn't. I'd guess you have low oil pressure......

god i hope its not my engine ,,, but if it is the dealer should put in another one, as i on have 12132 miles on the truck, i will know in about 1 hour when my buddys shop opens as we are going to stick a gauge right to the block

another cause for low oil pressure is water mixed with oil. I highly doubt you have a blown head gasket, but it just popped into my head since this happens on my car a lot :)

good luck!
