Lovebugs! They are awful!!

well i hope they stay up in north florida. We had them BAD end of may down here. Those things can be a real pain in the arsh!!!

For those of you whom never experienced luv bugs(they really suck)!!!:(
Not only do they make one hell of a mess,They can damage your paint if not removed soon enough!!!!!:dontknow:

I use to live in Southern Florida. I hated those things. Your right. Their guts will eat the paint if not removed almost immediately. And the little buggers hardly ever get you as a single bug. They fly around in pairs copulating in flight. At least they die happy.

Didn't know they were back already!

Drove around a bit today, and not a single one! Keep them up north!!!!

Time to drive mom's car, and park the truck!!!!!:D:D:D:D

Some shots of them flying all over the ambulance. And our Paramedic Director's Unit after driving about 10 miles.

I went out and got the rain-x ---it may help wash the bugs of and protect the paint----but does nothing for the appearance of the truck ----I sure hope it washes off......it says it last 2 weeks or until you wash it off---I guess when it rains it will be gone also

I cleaned my dodge today and sprayed it with the same stuff. You're right, not much on looks, but guarantee you they will wash off in a snap! Trust me. Had to wash the ambulance twice today. Good thing they don't fky at night or early in the morning.

  That is the worst I have ever seen from any bug. Are these swarms everywhere?

i'm not sure. they usually settle in northwest florida once in the spring and once in the fall. they usually hang around for about 2 weeks or so.

One of the few advantages of being in Illinois. No love bugs...when in Jacksonville, I would not drive the truck while they were in the air.

When I went to the last FL GTG, the Love Bug Season was exceptionally bad, so I was told. ;) I never seen anything like it. "Swarms" is an understatement, "constant fog" is more like it. . . :D As soon as I got to TN, I pulled in a self serve car wash and pressure washed those biches off. I didn't unpack the truck yet, or make it to the house. I wanted those phuggers OFF the truck! :p  :D

this morning after the dew dried on the truck ---the rain-x looked like a snake skin crackle paint-----perfect for a viper truck

My bumper has needed repainted for over a year now, from those damn things.

I think someone got a pic of my truck at the last "Brat GTG". :D

We just have these Huge Grasshoppers in Oklahoma that will knock the crap out of you when your on a motorcycle. and make nice big Yellow goo where they hit. your windshield or front of your truck

but "Yes" I have experienced Love bugs, and you can keep them!!!!!! I drove to Jacksonville one time from Savannah, and had to stop three times just to clean the windshield.

Thats why I love having my F250 work truck. Park the RC in the garage and leave it alone. I was in the back yard yesterday ripping trees out of the ground with it. Brought them to the dump, opened tailgait, threw it in reverse, got a running start. Along with hitting the brakes and the other pile of wood someone had already thrown out all the trees in the back of my truck came right out. gotta love beaters!!!!
