Anyone notice 2 things

-1-number of 10s for sale on ebay has dwindled a bunch

-2-low milage trucks are already becoming rarer.

or am I wrong?

well of course... most people drove em... and of course they stopped makin em... has it been 2 year now?? !!!! wonder where all the woodhouse lease trucks r tho .... even those'll have miles on em....

my night runner is sittin in the driveway with 5,000 on the nose... by the end of the year I'll be suprised if it says 7,000

What is considered low mileage? Even at 11800 miles on my clock for an 05 I think that is very low considering its three years old. I have a 98 Eclipse that I have had since I was 20, 31 now, and it has 33K miles on it, hows that for low miles.

I think Joe mags has only 2500 on his.

low mileage to me means you wasted your money when you bought the car!

I have 17K in 2 years on my truck
4 k in 8 months on the Viper

To me it seems as if the number of 10s for sale on Ebay has increased in the past 3 months. I usually type "ram srt 10" into the search engine daily. Ususlly comes up with between 140-170 items found. Of those, 20-30 are trucks for sale nowadays, whereas 6 months ago it was 10-20. I could be wrong, but it just seems like there are more for sale to me. Depends on how you search too. If you type "ram srt10" for example, you only get maybe 70-80 listings.

Indeed... My 10 is at 40k miles because she's MINE and I love driving her. I have no plans on selling her in the future so there's no need to keep down the milage. My SRT-8 has 11k miles and I got that Oct. '07. I didn't buy these things for them to sit in the garage to gain years but no milage. I bought them because I can enjoy them now. These are only material items. When my time comes I cannot take 'em with me and some one else will claim them (if they aren't rust buckets by then)..

This is an interesting thread...

There is a huge conundrum when it comes to the present and future value of our trucks. Some enjoy the process of keeping the mileage as low as possible in hopes that the future value will be enhanced; others just love the idea of possessing a low mileage vehicle and may never consider selling it. On the other hand there are those who take every opportunity to get in the cab and drive regardless of the miles on the odometer.

There are also those of us that really don't care about future value or miles driven...we only drive in conditions that will minimize the adverse impact on the appearance. We do whatever is necessary to drive only in good weather, on paved surfaces, avoid those days that pollen is floating around, or the wind is kicking up too much dust.

Then of course there are the performance enthusiasts...no such thing as too much horsepower...or those of us that concur with Bills' phrase, but could careless about ever racing our huge horsepower monsters...

Multiple motivations to possess this wonderfully fulfilling hunk of iron...

The mileage on my CE is relatively low ( 11k) by virtue of the fact that I only drive it occasionally. I do not want to drive it everyday because I don't want to "wear out " the experience of driving one of Americas best vehicles.:D You know what I mean jelly bean?

Front page article in todays local newspaper about how everyone is trying to get rid of their huge gas guzzlers and of dealers complaining and describing the plummetting value of trucks and big SUV's.

This is pretty much me, only because I got Black :( :) If I had silver or red, rain, wind, etc. wouldn't matter as much as they don't show it as easy.
I still like black the best though, just a real pain to keep clean and a bigger pain to clean. Does help keep the miles down :) as I do like to keep miles somewhat low, just didn't figure I'd be this low (8k) after 3 yrs. :( and the gas price just makes things worse now

I'm so happy there are both schools on this. I'm on my third truck now (sadly my bad luck is thinning the herd) and drive the bug snot out of them all. My plan is to have every kind of fun imaginable upside and backwards and then in a few years when I've moved on to another sweet ride, catch up with one of you who wants to sell your show truck so I can drive it on weekends and remember when gas was only $4 a gallon.

BUG SNOT?

Now that is a phrase that caught my attention!

And a very realistic way to have both worlds...good philosophy, you more than most have a win/win philosophy...

Cool thread! I made it to 14,000:D sosooo the math part........hmmmm........around 4000 miles a year:D
