Lowered the 10

Tony , what if i only put the front springs of your lowering kit on my truck ?
are they higher or stronger than the RC springs ?
no sir, they are lower, let me do some checking and see what we can do

Here's my two cents. I had a 69 Impala convertible that sat way too high in the front stock, so removed the springs and cut one ring off the spring, this had two effects, it lowered the front and it also increased the spring rate of the spring (which is important when you lower vehicle height).

But before you cut your stock springs, put them both on the bench and see how much differnce you see between them (those in now that are too low and your originals). If after removing one ring it would still be higher on the bench, you will likely get the desired result.

I think the 04-05 use a 2500 frame and the 06 uses a 3500 frame. Thats why the 06 weighs about 500lbs more.

This is an urban legand that has been going around for some time.

They do use a 3/4 or 1 ton frame.

The SRT-10 trucks use a 1500 frame in all variants.

ok , but i dont want to lower the back because of the issues and the comfort.

if i only could see another Quad Cab that replace the oem springs for the RC springs , and see how this truck sit's...

if you take out the overload then you won't loose any comfort...

How's the ride quality with the rc springs? Notice any diff?

the bumpstops sitting on the chassis , even when the truck is not moving...
so , when i go over bumps or in potholes , the truck rides like a kart...lol

ok , the RC springs that Tony sold me are in the trash can , they where cut by the previous owner...
thats why my truck sat on his bumpstops and was un-alligneble (sorry for my englisch).

now i got McGaughy front springs from Jan (floor on VTCOA) , the truck has dropped 1.5 to almost 2" from stock , and it sits alot better.

what do u guys think ?

BEFORE with messed up springs from Tony

AFTER with the McGaughy's

Sits nice and level.

Most of us have had to cut the bump stops some to retain some spring action.

Much better! ;)

Just a word, I wouldn't put Tony's name next to rubbish mate, he only tries to help. The springs you got were rubbish but the way it reads sounds like they WERE Tony's springs, which is not the case. Tony would have given you plenty of warning on running second hand springs, it was up to you to decide if it was worth it. You obviously still went ahead and it ended up shit lol. You should have just bit the bullet and got brand new springs from the start IMHO. It ended up being false economy. Your truck looks much better now, I'd leave it alone now, call it a day lol.

the springs shoulda be checked before they where shipped by Tony.
i dont say Tony sells rubbish , he or his help where to quick to packed and shipped these springs.
if he looked at them , they wont be here in Belgium and i was almost $200 richer , i bought them for $75 , but with shipping and handling and taxes here in Belgium , they cost almost 3x more.

i hope Tony dont take this to offencive , but everybody can make mistakes.
all the rest i bought from Tony was TOPP-CLASS.
and i still gonna buy stuff in his shop...that's if he let me..

just a little disapointed with the spring affaire...:(

Just glad you got it back together and your happy, sorry about the problems, its hard to determine when something has been modified at times, and we was in a hurry to get them to ya, but now I have an xtra set lying around that I was gonna send ya, they are hard to come by:)
