I have an x-metal kit and just recently switched it to my 06' RC. I left the stock shocks on the 06' and it rides much better than the 04' ever did. I'm sure Gary doesn't use the best of shocks with his kit:mad:

Hope you have better luck than I did. I ordered an Xmetal TB about 2 years ago... still waiting:p

the x kit comes with monroe magnum or some sort, last about 15,000 miles, you have over $200 apiece bilstiens , some of the best in the market, so why change them, they work just fine, your welcome to buy the x kit, jsut be warned of the springs, they are a touch soft, that is THE only reason we started doing our kits, but if y ou get the x kit, jsut use your oem shocks bud, jsut ask a few around tnviper, kyle a few others, the oem shocks are waaaayyyy better

I had to remove my X-Metal shocks after about 10,000 miles and it drove MUCH better with the stock Bilsteins.

I wouldn't lower your front. The 06 is more of a PIA than the 04-05. Get some blocks from JTSVP to level it. Your stock shocks will be just fine, but if you really want to change use the Rancho adjustable shocks. They fit great and are reasonably priced. If you do lower the front be ready to deal with some pretty serious bump stop, and alignment issues.

Plus leaving small portions of your front facia in every driveway you go in, unless you use the sideways method.

2006 with a 1/2" JTS Venom Performance drop and loving it! I run 45 series tires to fill in the wells better so the extra tire height "may" help as it still looks lowered but is still at a reasonable height off the blacktop due to the extra 1/2-3/4"? from the tires sidewall. No issues over driveways, only way I can see how is if you drive like an idiot doing 35mph straight on to one. Driving at normal speeds on a slight angle like most cars, it's a non issue. In addition to the QA1s it firmed things up nicely and it sits sweeeet!

Dude, get Stinker's kit (JTSVP), the best hands down, just put it on my 05 RC. Check out my thread in Visual Mods for some pics. Truck rides amazing, and DO NOT change the shocks (unless they are Justin's QA1's). The Bilsteins are where it is at. 1.75" in front and 2.5" in the rear, and the truck sits perfect.

Yeah, the shocks that come with the X-Metal kit are a POS...truck handled like a 1977 Ford LTD.....put the Bilsteins back on and it handles like a sports car.....just get Tony's kit...You wont get better service..

i think you guys all made up my mind im gonna go with stinkers kit that batram looks bad ass cant wait for mine to look like that lol stinker youll be hearing from me soon also for the bedrug just as soon as im done with justins powdercoating and nitrous kit should be a month or so

I would order QA1 shocks to.

I got them on my truck but I like stif rides so.

I think that are very nice to see those truck lowering kits to be installed there. It must have been very good to see the pictures plus the explanations given here. I hope that things might go thru and well in this one. Thanks again for the posts!

Does anyone have feedback on Stinker's lowering kit for 06 QCs? I want to order it but am scared of that disclaimer about the possible vibration issues.
