? but if you change "her" side of the car you have to do the same for the van and then you'd still end up with the ladder in her window!

she was damn lucky, and he's a damn idiot for not taking 5 minutes to properly fasten his load....... i drive Semi for a living and it's a law to stop 15 minutes after driving and check your load, guess how many people do that.

The ladder would have gone off the road. They drive on the left, so the ladder fell off the truck and went right into the oncoming lane. If the same truck had been on the right side of the road then the ladder would have still gone right. But this time right would have been into the emergency lane or off the road completly.
