Magnaflow Busted

Always ride with the back glass open and the radio off. I like to listen to it. Sitting at a light i heard the dreaded rattle. Sounded like a heat shield. Pulled over at a gas station and bumped the muffler with the palm of man hand, and its rattling inside. :argh:

Sounds like you need a new muffler then, gonna go with the same one or try something new?

I emailed magnaflow customer support to see if they can sell me or give me a part number for the seperate muffler only without the tail section to swap it out. If i can get this for 100-200 it would be better than dropping 600 on a full system. The one I have is the second generation, and there is no rust. So all i need is a new can.

But i would never buy or suggest someone to buy the magnaflow system. Google it, youtube it, hell enter it into the VTCOA search bar.

Yep, same thing the one came with my truck did.

bro mine did the same thing, same problems you said.

thats why I went with spintechs, fully welded up, thicker steel than flowmaster and other companies use.

come check my truck out one weekend and listen to it. I posted that sound clip also.

i have the same here with my fkn Magnablow , this is the most crappy exhaust u can buy...
one of these days i'm gonna install my new Belanger headers , along with the original catback , only 10K miles on it...

for me , never that bull**** Magnablow on my vehicles !

Basically Magnaflow blew me off, they wanted the whole system shipped so they could determine what was wrong. I cut that $hit off and put two Cherry Bomb Vortex on there. F%^K MAGNAFLOW!

Basically Magnaflow blew me off, they wanted the whole system shipped so they could determine what was wrong. I cut that $hit off and put two Cherry Bomb Vortex on there. F%^K MAGNAFLOW!

Hey i have exchanged 6 emails with Magnaflow over this deal. I give a list of direct questions i needed answered to get the problem solved and they answer ONE each response in a round about way. Its like pulling teeth. They really come off as ignorant. Putting together all the different responses i gathered.

1.) I needed the orignal purchase receipt which i dont have
2.) I needed to have a magnaflow dealer sendentire system not just the muffler
which I would have to pay for the labor until its proven defective.
3.) They will inspect it and if proven defective workmanship, ship another
Turn around 6-7 weeks
4.) Only then would they refund the labor spent on removing the bad product
5.) In the meantime i could buy a new system, and if they determine the system is bad, they will give me a magnaflow credit. A MAGNAFLOW CREDIT.

The mandrel bent pipe is mandrel pipe. It is rust free. i dont see why i junk the whole system and buy a new catback. I found some Borla XR-1 Race mufflers that are the same length so i wont have a pieced together system. And i will cut the tips off and weld in some borla intercooled tips.

I will never buy another magnaflow product, or a vehicle that already has it.

Now you see why I went with the B&B. Quality, power and good sound. Spend $$ once and never regret it. I can still sell it for half of what I paid if I choose to do so.:rock:
