Dave called me from Roe racing with some bad news...they are suspicious that the plate under the SC is defective....the really bad news is he asked me not to drive my truck for 2 weeks!.. :(

He said there were only 9 kits affected..me being one of them...of course...:argh: ...a weld had broke on the plate and could lead to pieces of metal getting in the engine. There has been only one instance so this may be an isolated case but Dave said Sean was taking no chances. They are working with the manufacturer of the plate to get a replacement.

While I am not happy that my part may be defective I am very pleased with the way Roe is handling this. Most would have just shrugged it off as a 1 time thing. Roe has stepped up to the plate and is warning the 9 involved to not drive the truck till a new plate is supplied...:nurse:

He could have not said anything and hoped none of the other 8 would have a problem..he could have also started the old excuse "it's your fault because you installed it wrong".....thanks Dave and Sean for being ethical... .....

......Has anyone else here received a call?

What part of the plate? I have mine off and can take a pic.

Not sure Bone...I was in a hurry and could not go into detail....Dave just said it was the plate under the blower and could not only break off and go into the cylinders but screw with the A/F.....he said it was a top priority issue at Roe and they would have a fix ASAP...I only hope 2 weeks was just a CYA time frame..:dontknow:

When did you get your kit? I got my kit sometime in May of this year I believe.

I got it the first of Sept...you are probably safe...you can call Dave to make sure but he is contacting the 9 involved....he called me, I did not call him....

We have about 52 kits out there right now.
In late July, we started using a baffle plate made outside our shop.
I drew the print at a particular thickness, but the supplier convinced me that it didn’t need to be that thick and I allowed them to make it thinner (I won’t let that happen again).
Anyway, one cracked.
I’m not taking any chances on this and asked Dave to contact the guys who got their kits since those parts came in (9 trucks).
We’re going to either replace the part with a thicker one or go back to the previous design.
I just wanted to get the word to the 9 guys it affected as quickly as possible, even before we had an answer of which path we’re taking on the replacement.
The supplier of the laser cut and welded part is getting me a quote for how fast they can get the replacements made.
If it takes too long, we’ll go back to the old design.
I don’t want anyone inconvenienced by this any more than they have to be.
It’s just not worth taking the chance.
I’ll have an answer on the direction of the replacement today or Monday.

Regards,
Sean

Wow.

That is AWESOME customer service.

IF and when I get the funds, Roe it is.

Nice work, Sean.

Thanks for the response Sean...Like I mentioned I am not happy about the flaw but I do not blame you...MFRs can screw things....I am happy with the way you handled this. I feel I can buy from you in the future with confidence...:)

Roe has great customer service and follow-up. I have known Sean for many years and his reputation is what keeps his business alive.

Yes he does....he could have swept this under the rug and hoped no one else had a problem....instead he notified all involved and I had my new parts in less than 10 days...

Now thats what I call customer service above and beyond his responsibilities. Now I would love to see a proper intercooler for the Roe.

Once again...I am screaming for an informal partnership!

Here it is again:

Would love to see an informal situation in which DC Performance, PBJ, JMB, X-Metal, Underground Racing, and Roe Racing would come together to support our needs!

Each of these entities has its own unique niche in Viper performance. But wouldn't it be great if we could take our Roe TMTS to DC and know that they are coordinating with Sean...or take our Paxson from DC or Boomer to Underground and Roe?

All of these folks are wonderful at what they do and maybe they don't want to venture into each others realms...but it is just a dream of mine. All of those mentioned have wonderful reputations, and there are probably others.

But we have to go so far for service...even if DC had never seen a Roe TMTS, I would love to be able to take mine to them if I were on the West Coast because I would trust them to do quality work...the same with all of the other mentioned...

Oh well, I can dream.

FYI,
I believe PBJ is an authorized dealer/installer for Roe. I know that Joe knows the Roe VERY WELL and he communicates with them regularly. ;)

That's what I am talking about...close communication between our best vendors!

We and they all benefit!
