February 06, Reuters — Border police nab migrant in car dashboard. U.S. border inspectors found an undocumented Chinese immigrant wedged into the dashboard of a car crossing from Mexico, U.S. authorities said on Tuesday, February 6. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said inspectors found the 40−year−old man crammed into the dash of a Mercury Sable mid−size car during a routine inspection at the Calexico port of entry in southern California on Saturday, February 3. "Inspectors referred the vehicle for secondary inspection after the driver gave inconsistent answers to their questions," Vince Bond, the CBP spokesperson in San Diego.

"They discovered a specially constructed compartment underneath the dashboard area of the car and officers using a mirror could see part of a man's foot exposed," he added. Bond said inspectors ripped the dashboard open to release the unnamed Chinese. He was subsequently arrested along with the driver, a 53−year−old U.S. citizen. The discovery was the latest of a
growing number of attempts to smuggle undocumented immigrants concealed in car seats, engine compartments, and even gas tanks in a bid to beat tighter border security on the southwest border.

I got no problem with someone wanting a better life... fine by me!!

But do it the right way, fill out the forms, get your green card, legally become a citizen.... etc..

Dont try and sneak across the border and mooch off of us. If you are here illeagally or try to get here illlegally then you deserve to be caught, sent back, and made fun of.

I am in full support of LEGAL IMMIGRATION, lots of people of done it.

I am an example of legal immigration from Canada. Shit I moved down here because I got tired of rusting in Vancouver Canada

Being a fellow Arizonian, I totally agree with you!!!

I totally support people that do it the Right way, that is why we are the greatest country in the world....Anyone remember the term, Melting Pot????:dontknow: :dontknow:

If the do it Illegally...well, that is why we laugh, eh!:D

No real opinions, other than do it legally, become documented, etc, and you got my support.

Not sure what you mean by left wing circle... please define, as I tend to stay out of the political lime light.

I guess I do have an opinion... who do these people think they are, coming to our country, raising THEIR flag over and Upsidedown US Flag... anyone caught doing that legal or not needs to be taken down, jailed, etc.. actions like that are just total disrespect for our country and what it stands for.

If they want to have their home countries flags... fine.. but you put it below the American Flag, or on separete pole.

How would they like it if I went to their country, tooks big old stinky poop on their flag, then proceeded to wipe my butt with it... I would be shot... or hung for such an act... but yet they come here and think they can get away with desacrating our flag... I think not...

The problem with legal immigration is it is almost non existent. If a 25 year old wanted to come here and work legally he would be 40 before he would be allowed to come. It takes 15+ years for someone to go through the process and by that time they are past their prime working age. Not calling any of you 40+ year olds old, lol. just saying the jobs taken by immigrants are usually very physically demanding.

Just to come here for a visit from Mexico they would need to show proof of property ownership, bank account, job/school, fingerprints, etc. Yet Canadians can just walk right in no problem. Also, we can go to their country with no passport or visa whatsoever.:dontknow:

Actually I tend to disagree with you on this.. directly from the state department website:

Effective January 23, 2007, all U.S. citizens traveling by air to and from Canada are required to have a valid passport to enter the United States. As early as January 1, 2008, U.S. citizens traveling between the United States and Canada by land or sea (including ferries), may be required to present a valid U.S. passport or other documents as determined by the Department of Homeland Security. Ample advance notice will be provided to enable the public to obtain passports or passport cards for land/sea entries. American citizen travelers are encouraged to apply for a U.S. passport or the passport card when it becomes available, well in advance of anticipated travel. American citizens can visit travel.state.gov or call 1-877-4USA-PPT (1-877-487-2778) for information on applying for a passport.

That is a new requirement for US citizens not foreigners to have a valid US passport or you will not be allowed back into your own country, lol.

Canadians can get into the US with just a birth cert and id or a passport but Mexicans must also have a US Visa that requires the items I posted in the earlier post ie. fingerprints, bank accounts, property etc. All I am saying is the US should require all countries to have a US Visa or none not a double standard. Cubans touch US soil and they have it made, Salvadorians have a better chance of immigrating legally because the policies are more lax for them.

I just feel that if we are going to be hard on immigration we need to do it across the board no pussyfarting around. People wanting to come to the US look for those kinds of loopholes to get in.

ha, ha, ha ROFL

I agree with being fair as well. ..........But.......there are a lot of contributing factors to the policies that the US government has between different countries and different economic/terrorist issues. I am not a politician but feel everyone has a right to want to live in the USA and better their lives. All I say is do it legally and ask the Government why they have double standards with your issues.
