Microsoft 7

Ok finally something I know about, Computers... :)

I have been making a living Running, Operating, Servicing, Building, and about anything else you can think of with computers and networks for the past 31 years.
I go back to the TRS-80 (Trash 80), Commodore 64, Singer Sinclair, the VIC 20 and the Heath (Build your own) Kits. I actually have a copy of DOS 2.0 and a copy of Windows 2.5 (yes there were copies prior to 3.0 and 3.11) I purchase from Bill Gates at a computer show. Never buy a copy of an even numbered DOS... :)
This is an OLD trick from Microsoft. Put out a lot of publicity and get people to buy it and then when the problems pop up the patches/fixes start coming in by the boat load.
Don't become a Beta Tester for Microsoft, stay with Windows XP. It has been out long enough that it is finally Stable and the problems are few.
The BEST Operating System on the market is Unix/Linux (in all of its various forms) the learning curve is big but the payoff is worth it. When God uses a computer he uses UNIX.
Next Best is the MAC OS, built on a Unix Kernel, very friendly user interface and the problems are almost non-existent.
Windows is the last. Poorly written Fat and Bloated code and so many different programs and program languages that do not fit a "Standard" make it extremely slow and prone to failure (BSOD - Blue Screen Of Death).
When a problem does happen there are little or no error codes to tell you what went wrong and how to fix it.
Microsoft constantly changes the standards in an attempt to get closer to the MAC OS. The problem is that the direction that Microsoft went about 15 years ago with Windows NT 3.5 that they cannot get there from here.
Don't get me wrong I use Windows on a Daily Basis and my PC has Windows on it. I am just passing along what I have found to be true over the years.
:) Have Fun Storming the Castle!!!

I agree on a lot of what you wrote, but Windows 7 is not an even number release, I would call it Vista refined.

Windows ME was technically an upgrade of Windows 98 until Windows XP came out and it was a nightmare.

I really do agree with you that MS has to start fresh if it will compete in the next generation. The worst mistake Microsoft did was make Vista backwards compatible with XP. You cannot upgrade Windows 7 from Windows XP and rightfully so.

XP had a real bad name for it till around SP2 when it matured. Vista had the same issues upgrading from XP. The main difference is XP was a far superior OS compared to Win98.

Just my 2 cents.

I want to see a mac run Crysis

Funny, when you bring up things MAC OS X can't do, the MAC cheerleader corner becomes very quiet... :)

I personally love OS X BUT I will not pay $500 - $1000 more for an inferior product on the hardware side... Apple has done an extrmely beautiful job making them look purdy though...

I WILL BE USING XP PRO 64 BIT FOR A LONG TIME TO COME. EXCEPT I HAD GOTTEN A LAPTOP WITH WINDOWS 7. I HAVE RETURNED IT. not because windows 7 does not work right but because i have heard whispers that there are government back doors in windows 7. seeing as how NSA worked with MS on the security i think that is bad news.

talking bad about health reform? perhaps it will be a federal crime soon. also i do not have onstar but thats another story.
