mind made up, bye bye ram.

Enjoy the new ride........

the newer vipers have way more room than the older ones... Im 6'4 240 and the new viper is fine for me... .. but if i was 6foot and 300 .. not a chance in hell would i fit in that sucker..

no way on god's green earth you'll fit in a lotus (i'm assuming you mean the elise/exige)...i'm 5'10" and 185....and it's borderline uncomfortable to even get into....when i sit down in the seat, it's ok...fits tight, but it's designed for the track....i can open the door and palm the road....

How is that possible, I fit in a Exige at 6'0 180 just fine, with size 12.5 feet no less.

There are seat lowering kits available for the pre 03 vipers, I have driven a few with them and with less padding in the seat and it worked out fine. Personally I am trying to find a 04+ right now in a vert but I need to clear a parking space up first and the truck is not going.

I'm 6-2 at 260....I fit into the last Viper I drove...a 2008...only problem was the pedals are too dang close and getting in and out is a workout.....I wouldnt mind having a Viper but really not that impressed with them...console gets hot as hell and you have to be careful you dont get burned by the lower door jams getting in an out......rather have a comfortable Challenger with a built 426 stroker..JMHO:)

i have seen some on ebay with the same 8.3 for under 30k.
i almost bought one until i tried to insure it. if i pay cash for it and use it on the track then there is no need for insurance.

as far as size, i may have to find one to sit in. i am 300lbs and 6 foot tall.
the lotus is option 2. prefer a viper over the lotus as i like a v-10 over a toyata 4 banger. i also want to go 200 again, as i miss it.

The GTS had a 8.0L (better motor, IMO)... So, if you saw a "Coupe" w/ a 8.3L, it was a 3rd Gen. And if it was under $30k and not wrecked you should have bought it...

You need to drive a GTS. I'm 5'11, 240LBS, and I was very comfortable driving it... but, I'm used to being in tight places so it didn't bother me. ;)

really it was in ingress/egress...even somewhat svelte...i didn't like it...but i was looking for a DD that got less gas than the truck....and hondas/acuras/nissans/ just didn't do it for me anymore....

you like the 8.0 best?

fat man in a little coat are we?

'96-'99 are still forged pistons ('00-'02 were cast pistons)... yes, I think they are better engines. I know the intake plenum design was MUCH better than the crap we have on the 8.3L.

I'm 6'3" 205lbs 36" inseam and very flexible and still found getting in/out of older Viper's involves step by step maneuvering. You simply don't just get in and get out. At your size it would be a 'hard sale' to get me to spring for a Viper. I know over time I'd dread it. Then again, could be a great motivator for you to see Jenny Craig! ;)

forged? as in i can run 7psi without other mods? if so that would be awesome.

I know there are quite a few ROE SC'd cars with zero problems out there... The kit Sean Roe made for the 8.0L is what put him on the map. I would take a stroll around the VCA forum and see what those guys are saying about boosted Gen 1 and 2 cars. There is a lot of info on there. Plus, I think the original ROE SC for the Viper 8.0 is one of the sexiest looking packages out there... on ANY car. :)

Actually... The Viper car's cockpit is much like the C4 Corvettes. You gotta "fall in and roll out".

And don't worry about the burn from the exhaust pipes running under the door of the car.... the Viper guys refer to it fondly as "The Red Badge of Courage". :D

my friend has a 1981 or 1979 corvette, i fit in there with some effort, but could sit in it all day on the track. if thats more of what the viper is i am fine with that.

been there done that for 8 years. It was great once you were in it. Was funny to see my 70 yr old mom get in and out.
