BTW: This was written before I even saw Anthony's post..... Nothing personal was directed towards him or anyone else.....

(FYI: Webster's dictionary very simply defines the word "misogyny" as "hatred towards women".... "misandry" is hatred towards men)

No one is more clearly or keenly aware of the differences between men and women than I am..... And of course, I realize that close associations (read marriage or simple cohabitation) can produce the most profound levels of rancor and anxiety from time to time. I believe this can be explained by the simple fact that mankind despises "that which it does not understand". And, although the word "man" is most clearly evident in that reference, this fault lies with women as well.

Men and women have been fighting since soon after the creation of the species. We have unfortunately decided to simply direct our hostilities towards each other rather than making any attempt whatsoever at addressing the real causes of our frustration....Mainly, bloody closed mindedness and an unwillingness to actually love and understand others.

Am I innocent of these charges? Shit no...

I often become frustrated with the apparent lack of understanding between my wife and myself...... Do I sometimes feel like bashing my head against the frikking wall because we can't seem to "get it together" when doing a joint project.....? Unequivocally, YES. But, I love and appreciate my wife too much to (even privately) cut down "her kind" in general.

This kind'a shit is childish and destructive in so many ways. It only serves to further divide and destroy the potential for harmony between men and women. It exemplifies the same kind of closed mindedness as racism and ethnic hatred.

True, women (in their own inimitable way) can be the most conniving, underhanded, devious, ruthless and rapacious beings on earth.... especially when a close relationship turns to shit. But what (I believe) really pisses men off most is the cold, hard fact that women are alot better at this shit than men are..... And us guys HATE being bested by anyone, let alone a 'mere' woman.

Think about that next time you decide that it's funny, cool or macho to speak ill of your wife, girlfriend or the opposite sex in general. Because it's probably nothing more than an admission of your own fear and of the simple childish insecurity which motivates you.

Yes, women bash men and vice versa. But both of them are wrong.....

Certainly, we cannot continue as a species without each other...... And there's obviously something emminently profound about our attraction to each other. Why not take a hint from nature, go with the flow and stop cutting each other down with cheap shots every frickin' chance we get..?

Who knows....?..... We might even get our 'ashes hauled' more often.....

Now, howza 'bout we all hit the Sunday Brunch at Denny's.

Man D! I don't knkow where you went to school, but you sure have a way wit da werdz man!!

Well said! :congrats:

The phrase "LOVE/HATE" was created for a reason... They go hand in hand, unfortunately. Some people (women and men) NEED to have drama in their lives to make them feel like they are alive... Or, to break-up the monotony of said life. Ask almost any woman and they will tell you that a good "fight" every now-and-then makes them feel better than not fighting at all! :dontknow: I don't get it either.... Some men that I know are the same way, they just won't admit it. ;) There excuse is that the "make-up" sex is better than normal. :D

I don't get women... Never have and never will. But I do know this: There are some women on the earth that I do despise. I will admit that it is because they got the better of me and I didn't "see it coming".

I learned a ton about women and men while doing research trying to save my first marriage. As a result I have a greater appreciation for what makes us tick.

This coupled with the fact that my forever wife (translated: current) is the best a man can get, means that we VERY rarely argue, and have never had a "fight". Most of the time, we just agree to disagree. :D

I would encourage every man and woman, to do some research about relationships and what each sex needs out of the relationship. (I have references if anyone is interested) It might be a real eye opener!

Some very revealing responses so far...........

But Jeffrey Dahmer references notwithstanding..............?

Ground up and in the freezer.

I actually knew a guy who did this! Ernie Tyree was his name. He didn't actually grind her up, but he did "portion her out".

I considered him a friend. You wouldn't have expected it from him, he seemed like a nice guy. :dontknow: An E-6 in the Navy, with a seemingly good career ahead of him. He called the Police one day to report his wife missing, when they came to investigate, they asked if he minded if they look around. He said, "No problem". Within 20 minutes they found her amongst the rump roasts and lamb racks! (Lord please forgive me for that right there.....)

Sorry for Ho'ing Tim....

Quite franky Scott, you've swerved into what may be the most salient and sobering point to be made here.....

Of course, everyone who reads this will guffaw even the mere notion of anything like that occurring in their lives. But this is exactly the kind of "end result" that can happen when this kinda shit escalates....

You were actually right to bring this up...... For all the fkn good it'll do....

Actually, I have to dissagree... The guy was obviously NUTS before he cut his woman up. :dontknow: He might have just cut up his dog if it set him off... It is a shame that it just happend to be a human that got in his way. :( People like this just don't go nuts, they ARE NUTS.

Absolutley no offense ment to you, Scott. I have a lifelong friend that is in prison for attempted murder. I still consider him a brother, but he is just nuts... He needs help and never got it, until it was too late. :( I know what it feels like to see a different (and shocking) side to someone...

None taken! It's a weird and sobering thing to see this side of life! I heard that he had a really short temper anyway, but he just seemed "normal". :dontknow:

Cool, I love disagreement.......

Personally, I think we're all fkn nuts....... That is to say that each of us (to one degree or another) has an internal device that (again to one degree or another) tells us what's right and what's not (conscience)....

However, free will.... Thee most wonderful and (at once) accursed element of humanity, can override this wonderful conscience and intiate the dreaded (fk it) function...... Those of us who have allowed our free will to conduct itslelf selfishly will relent to the impulses to engage in mayhem and other form of evil without restraint...

Those of us whose consciences are well developed and trained have an internal mechanism that shuts down the system before it can begin to consider actually "doing" or even considering these kinds of evil acts.....

These people are spiritually well trained and therefore are far less likely to engage in such acts......

But baby, make no mistake about it........ We are ALL nuts......Some just choose not to act that way.... It all about free will.

Post #1 started this.......a thought in my head that gave birth.....

I see alot of stereotypical bashing of the opposite sex.......

I don't mind bashing when something deserves to be bashed....ie; Daniel Ortega, Hugo effin Chavez, Nancy Pelosi..... But bashing someone's gender is quintessentially unfair and is counter productive.....

Just read the initial thread..... This isn't directed at one individual.. It's directed at a behavior.....

Now with THIS I do agree...

BUT (there is always a BUT. ;) ) Did the act of cutting this chick up directly result from HER actions towards him, or vice-versa? Or, was it a culmination of things through-out his day/year/life that brought him to this point? Did the act directly reflect his view towards women in general (or even this particular woman)?

I hate to be simplistic.

But all those things you mention occured in the "now".... Each act represented a choice..... in thought, action etc.....

Furthermore the act resulted from a habit of past "choices"...

Good choice= no culmination.

Bad choice=escalation.

But all the choices resulted from an act of free will....

In the end, whether its at the end of a long chain of bad life choices or good ones. We all reap the harvest of "who we are" as a result of what choices we've made.....

In the end, it is my opinion that everything is about selfishness vs: altruism......
