Is there any differnce between the any of the viper blocks, and does anyone know where to pick one up cheap???

No acc. or manifolds needed...

Lots of difference between Gen I, Gen II and Gen III.

I know of a place in Wisconsin that has two or three Gen I blocks...let me know if you are interested.

quad and reg cab are different

I have heard this in the past and I am sure you are correct...but can you give us some details? And maybe more importantly, why? Just seems that this approach of special engines for two trucks with different transmissions is a very costly approach, on the part of Chrysler...any insight?

Just looking for a gen 3... So the QC blocks are the only one's that won't work...

10psi @ ? rpm's.

Dude! change your bearing or at least check them before you overhaul your engine (NOT A MOTOR!)

How many miles?

That sucks your totally stock except for a size 14 foot right?!?

Size 19, but yea basicly stock. 22,000 miles. 10 psi is warmed up @ 750 rpm, I put a second gauge on it to verify it... We were going to do a quick rebuild on this motor but my uncle to me just to find a used one, build it how I want it, and the swap it. Then he will take my old one, build it how he wants it and put it in the viper... With any luck i am hoping for about 650 rwhp n/a...

Is 7,000$$ really the best i can do? I'll pay that if I have to, but I thought these wotors were a little cheaper...

wait What do you mean they are different??

Dodge knew that anyone who purchases a QC really isn't looking for performance. They think they are but deep within their brain is a dominant (defective) lobe called Practical Lobe which is just under the Occipital Lobe.

To be fair most of the population is, imho, 'afflicted' with this dominant lobe. How else can you explain Kia, Hyundia and soon to arrive Smart Car. Interestingly enough Psychiatrist have determined that those who purchased vehicles like the SRT10 QC often spend hours pontificating the performance aspects of their vehicles while also spending enormous amounts of dollars to make it 'faster'. I could go into the many medical based reasons for this behavior but to keep it simple I refer to it simply as 'Small Dick Syndrome'.

Hope this helps.....:p

I dont really know what the difference is between the blocks.. but they have different part numbers...

as far as your oil pressure...10psi @operating temp at 750 is normal--

Remove oil pressure sensor (Refer to 9 - ENGINE/LUBRICATION/OIL PRESSURE SENSOR - REMOVAL).
Install oil pressure gauge.
Warm engine at high idle until thermostat opens.
CAUTION: If oil pressure is 0 at idle, Do Not Run engine at 3000 RPM.

Oil pressure should be 68.9 kPa (10 psi) at idle or 310 - 517 kPa (45 - 75 psi) at 3000 RPM.
If oil pressure is 0 at idle, shut off engine. Check for a clogged oil pick-up screen or a pressure relief valve stuck open.

Thats what I did, gauge read 9 psi, I'll do it agin and see what it makes a 3,000. Either way I know it's coming soon... I can't seem to sell it, so if I am keeping it I am going to continue to race it
