Motor Question

33 psi @ 3,000... the motor is just worn out, with my driving I can't really say I am suprized. It still runs fine, it's just not going to be long...

ever taken an oil sample?????

and its an ENGINE not a motor. the motor is whats gets the ENGINE runin.

Short term fix, go to a heavier oil.

This will fill your engines new found bearing clearance issues.

IT WORKS!

are you sill running 5-20?

0-40....

O well. 0-20 is stock. Whats the word on running 20w-50 in these things.

and have you tried to go back to a 0-20? Maybe something is wrong with the oil pump. wore out spring, bad gears, too much clearance.

Mine says 0W40 on the cap, and in the manual.... The simple fix is cut my right foot off...

Some are going to 15w50...but the blow-by and bearing issue is becoming something that is going to need some research...the space between the piston domes and the first ring is very small. When the piston gets hot it is the dome that gets the most heat...it expands and contracts with temperature variation and that very narrow space (dome depth) is a real problem...the dome simply does not have sufficient material to absorb the heat and the rings start expanding and contracting with the heat transferred from the dome. Take a look at the stock pistons...there is precious little dome material...look at after market pistons and you will see a much thicker dome and a longer skirt distance before you get to the initial ring.

We will see lots of blow by issues that can use heavier oil as a short term solution, but eventually, most of us will have to go to forged pistons (and rods since we are there) to alleviate the problem.
