I started a series of mods last week that I didn't get to finish. Oh well. Thats life!

Last Week's Mods OTW:
1) Last week I got the ball rolling on the VTCOA decal. My guy that does that is covered up. He letters race cars and has quite a few to do. I didn't want to burden him with my micro request. I think he said he'd be able to do it this weekend. If not, I'll take it elsewhere.

2) I started to do my hoodliner like Brat's. But another idea struck me. I will be finishing it this weekend.

3) Once again, the wheels will be put off. Its supposed rain and be in the 50's. I am not even gonna attempt it.

4) I did delete my Ringgold Dodge decal!

5) I also drank a shit-load of beer!

This week:
1) Hopefully I'll have my decal(s) done. I'm getting it done one way or the other.

2) Wrap up my hood liner project.

3) I'm gonna investigate and see if I can tear my headlights apart and paint them black. Maybe I'll just tint them and get brighter bulbs. At this point, its a R&D project.

4) As always, drink some frigging BEER!

I bet making the "one mod a week" gesture is becoming a bit of an albatross now. :)

This week I changed my preset radio stations.
Next week I will be adjusting my seat position.
If I get really ambitious, I may fill up the coin holder.

Just ripping on ya Jimi.. I could never do as much as you each week with my truck.

Well, I may be able to drink as many beers, but that will be for another day.

Are you going to change the front ram emblem with the one Justin is making or the one Trooper has? I actually really like how well made the one Trooper has.

Ha! Never. I love my truck time! Maybe when I run out of funds where I can't modify even the tiniest thing. Then it may become a burden. Even though I haven't exactly sunk a lot of money into it. I wish I could have my gas money back!

Don't forget foot pedal adjustment!

It's all good. I just retract the e-beer I was gonna give ya. ;) :D

I will change it eventually. I'm gonna hold out for Justin's design. I'm sure the craftsmanship of Zero Altitude's is amazing. I, however don't care for the border. I don't like how the border is thicker closer towards the center of the emblem. If anything I'll shave the emblem, fill it in, and paint it and be done.

Mod of the month?! :D I'd never get off my ass and do thing if I waited that long. I've still got mods for a Trans Am I don't even own anymore! ;)

Here are some "teaser" pics of the hood liner. I had to break up all the black under the hood. I've gotten it on the truck yet. Hopefully it won't look gaudy.

I've never done anything like this before. I just manned up and tackled it. I feel maybe I should have practiced some to "perfect" the process. Oh well, its going on the under side of a hood. Its still rough around the edges a bit. Its not the final product. I'll get some pics of it on the truck later.

Lets hear some opinions. . . :)

Black or White out the VIPER powered. Looks good.

I will probably do that too. I'm thinking black "VIPER" and white "POWERED". Thanks for the compliment! :)

Thanks man! You inspired me. That'd be a negative. I went to a local hobby store and bought some red cloth and covered it. I used headliner adhesive. We'll see how it holds up.

dont know the under side of the hood is red so it might not show up so well, but under your hood its going to look killer.

Looks awesome.... Did you just overlay the red cloth on top of the existing liner? How did you get it to mold to the lettering?

Its a great idea besides painting the lettering.

Can you send a few more pics of it and exactly how you did it?

I did. It was honestly not TO BAD. It was pretty tedious. If you close my work is far from perfect, but it works for me. For now. I just used some headliner adhesive that you can pick up at any auto parts store and followed the directions on the can. This is my first time doing anything like this, but I'll be honest. I like to think I am fairly crafty.

Im about to go install it and take a few pics of it on the truck. (The truck is dirty as sin) :(

Ok, here are the pics. They're shiddy. I am in a hurry, plus I am starving and I am craving some BEER. Excuse the hideous truck. Its FILTHY. I'm waiting to color the letters in. I'm gonna see how this glue holds with the heat. If it lasts a few days, I'll take a min and color the letters in.

Looks really good...

I have to ask you a few questions though.

1. How thick is the red material?
2. How did you get it to contour into the lettering of the liner?
3. How much glue do you use? Is is a spray or a tube?
4. Did you just wrap the red around back and glue it to hold it in place?
5. Where did you start? Edge, middle?? :dontknow:

I think its a great visual mod. Wonder if its gonna get dirty.

Looks awesome !!!! Something to consider while you're thinking about painting the Words, just outline them, don't make them solid colors, that way the red still is prominent !!!

1. Thick as a 100% cotton t-shirt. Prob the same material.
2. 3M headlinder adhesive.
3. See #2 :D Its a aresol can, spray.
4. Yes, I did. I wrapped it far enough so that the push clips that gold the liner on are assisting.
5. I started on the passenger side. I should have started in the center or the "hood light". :)

Mine shouldn't get to dirty. I only drive it on nice days.
