My 10 vs wife's 300....

Now i can see if someone did not know the car that leaving the car in drive and leaving traction control on would net better ETs.

Best combo for me is and always has been traction control completely disabled manual shifting with street tires or DR.

How much time can you knock off shifting it? I just had her leave it in drive

I'm just reiterating what the SRT Engineers have repeated over and over during the open session Q&A's.

Try it judge for yourself.

Only messed with it once, seemed to have a big delay, what are the factory shift points and how much longer can you hold the gear with the stick?

Put it in drive and go is about what would expect to here from those guys.

Try it judge for yourself.

Dude, his wife has raced the car once, why complicate it until she get comfortable with car, it shifts plenty fine by itself. Even with you shifting yours manually like you say, its still an automatic without a clutch. Why didn't you buy the 6 speed if your such a shifting expert. I shift my truck manually as well but I'm no Trainman. :D

You're right. Those guys are a bunch of idiots. I mean, they only designed the things.

If you have a tuner, set the trans to shift where you want it and run it in drive. You are not going to be more consistent than the computer.

I'm sure manual shifting is better for you OSO since your a alot faster, but on a reasonably stock set up I would say drive is the best option for Justin's wife. My wife runs 11.8 on a stock 5.7 with spray and bolt ons, seems to work fine for her.

Designing something does not make you an expert in how it works only in how you intended for it to work.

While in drive watch your rpms or log them and see where the shift points are for all gears at wot .

Why not learn from the get go. They did not offer a six speed option or i would have it would of saved me another five thousand in parts.

Even with just tuner and cai it was faster manually shifting.

If you hit the rev limiter it will hold the shift until the rpms come down. With a tuner you can set the rpm limiter in drive to more than the car can handle .

Being an 06 you need to verify that they replaced the o-rig on the electrical connection going to trans and verify fluid level.

Now back to building another 426 car that will be manually shifted :) .

Just wondering, what difference in your times between manual and auto when you only had CAI and tuner? What was the difference in your times is my question.

Is the o-ring a recall? Or just a TSB?
I believe it was only a tsb. If your not leaking fluid and the level is good its most likely been done.

Will need to find my notes from back then.

No biggie, just wondered if it was a big noticeable time difference.

So for a beginner, leave it in drive and punching it is the way to go?
