The AM portion of my aftermarket Pioneer CD/mp3 player is a lousy piece'a shit....

And for a talk radio junkie, this is exceedingly perplexing....

Now, before some fkn smartass wants to turn this into an opportunity to diss talk radio, I'll just politely ask you keep yer GD mouth shut and address the subject as I've raised it....OK..?

My local audiophiles and pundits have informed me that manufacturers spend whatever dollars they have on the player components of their CD players and don't give a shit about the radio portion....especially amplitude modulation (AM)... And as a result, my AM radio (and all AM radios for that matter) are cheapass pieces of home made shit.....and always will be...

Is there anyone out there who knows of an after market AM car radio that is top notch...? I'm sick of listening to something that sounds like Radio Free Europe (RFE back in the 60's) when the Russians are jamming the fkn signal...

Over................

Tim, I us XM for my talk radio

No, like everything else...... There is a battle between Sirius and XM. There is good talk radio on both. Best bet is to check there web sites and see which one carries the programs you like the most

Hey Jeff, I just went to the XM talk station line-up....

Costas and Glenn Beck are decent...... But they don't have the guys I like....

And no, Roy.... Rush is not on my list... I already told ya that..... ;)

Howard Stern would lick the fumunda from under my scrotum for 25 cents....

I wouldn't listen to him even if Jenna Jameson was simultaneously garglng my babies....

Aw shit, I think I just destroyed my own argument......

No, I need Dennis Prager, Michael Medved, Hugh Hewitt and Michael Savage...... You know....? Moderates............;) :D :p

ya you are best to stick with the satellite " Sirius here" :)... or frequency modulation , you can probably get some sort of amplitude modulation antenna or something to increase your capabilities.

I think that most all talk radio will eventually move to FM anyway. The AM stations are over 50% Spanish speaking now..... They call themselves La Invasora (The Invader) and stuff like that.....

Anyone like bullfighting.......?

I like talk radio myself (to a certain extent) and have found that most current radios don't receive terrestial (AM/FM) stations all that well. But you might try a AM/FM Signal booster... no gaurentees... but it might help to increase the signal strentgh...

But as others have stated.... sattelite radio is an option.... and one that I have done.... I use Sirius.... switched from XM, when they fired my two favorite DJs....
