What belt should I use to replace it?

sounds like this may become a common occurence?

but A cog system would be best, but more $ put out.

Fstjack also talked about a 6 rib belt system.

I really dont know other than a turbo :D

PM Fstjack or call him and get his deal on it, he has a tric or two up his moo moo:rock:

I may look into the cog belt setup... have to see what that will set me back... am guessing 1200-1500 because of the number of pulleys that need addressed - SC, waterpump, PS, AC, crank, idler, tensioner, alternator, sounds like a hell of a job...

Maybe a better belt-tensioner would be a good idea (would help wrap more belt on the pulley). :dontknow: It worked for the Lightnings.

gotcha. Yeah, i don't have that sound yet (knock on wood) But, i do get
some intresting noise from my mid pipes. Excellent question for another
thread ;)

Thanks,

Sharpi

My system has alwas been 6 rib...??....what were you guys running?...

Non SRT tuners have gone to a 8-rib.....

My pulleys have been media blasted so that the rib surface is textured.....

You wont get any belt slippage unless your supercharged. Its hard to hear because it only slipping on the drive pulley on the SC compressor..and with all the noise created allready by the engine, headers, midpipes, and exhaust, it was very hard to hear, becuase it will only do it under boost... which means your under accellerations..

I noticed it only because I started losing boost, so I was starting to look for reasons...

Excellent Mike, can't wait to here your final numbers.

You put a cog system on these super chargers and you'll rip the snout of the crank off.
