The proper term used to describe people from Asia is "Asian".....

In addition: Using the word "decent" to describe a man's wife is usually considered polite only when used with reference to "decency"..... I believe the word you were searching for was "descent"........

Unless, of course, you meant something like "Loik totally dude...She was purdy decent, mahn..."

Just curious, Mikey, and not trying to "do" anything. Out of nowhere you volunteered such an outrageous personal story that it raised some questions... like something you shouldn't be watching but can't turn away from. If you don't want to talk about it, that's just fine.

But now I'm curious about drug testing in the military. How do you get around that as a Marine who smokes Thai bud? (I assume it's something you smoke?) Every military person I've ever known, to my knowledge, never did any drugs out of fear of being tested & booted out.

They tested my a$$ one week after the Nats! Only came up positive for burnt rubber. Good thing I didn't partake in some of Indy's fine stuff.

I have to agree that it probably is kinda PC ness here....

But many Asian folks with whom I've come into contact have stated this as their preference.... That supercedes PCness as far as I'm concerned. It then becomes an issue of politeness. And, my penchant for plainspeaking (read "directness") notwithstanding, if someone is offended (particularly by references made directly to their ilk) one should always defer to kindness and courtesy.

Personally, someone can use the words "dego", "wop", "guinea", "greaseball bastard" or any other pejorative Itlo reference without pissing me off..... It really depends on what's motivating them........ usually I just let it roll.....

But if they say shit about my wife, they are cordially given a quarter for the purpose of calling themselves an ambulance....

After all, even a man of peace has his limitations......
