Hooked up with some of the guys from RumbleBee.org and went down to National Trails Raceway for their last open day of the season.
Nothing fancy; just 'fun runs' for us.

Mmmmm....clean trucks = happy trucks!

There was this BADF'INGASS Mazda RX-7 there with an LS-2 engine and T-56 transmission squeezed into it!!! Almost 400hp, and what does an RX-7 weigh....15, maybe 18 pounds? :)
Keith gives it the ol' "two thumbs up" approval!

The batteries in my camera died a painful death shortly thereafter. I'll get more pics up when I score them from the other guys.

Thanks to all the guys who came out today. It was a pleasure meeting you all and hanging out.
And huge props to 1BDHEMI for the hook up with the goodies and all the rest of the track stuff! That was awesome!

N/A, intake & exhaust, stock tires/wheels, zero traction, .0004% remaining clutch: 14.7 @ 99mph.

"Hello? Centerforce? Yeah....I need to place an order..."

:D

Had a great time today and man i look sexy in that last pic!!!!!!!!!!   HAHAHAHAHA

Looks like you guys had fun.  So what were the times? And did the trucks look clean after racing?

Mine did because it was out in front!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great pics, thanks for sharing. . .

Who's truck is the first yellow one? The one with black wheels. I like that spoiler.

Can you get me/us some specifics on that spoiler? :dontknow:

PM please, so I'll :posthoe: :D

Sounds like some fun!:burnout:  :burnout:

FWIW, my Focus weighs in around ~2,700lbs. I would imagine the RX7 to be in that territory. Especially with the V8. Should still be a rocket!!:D

Funny that I just spoke to my friend and he said he just came back from there.
He brought his 04 GTO red..

I didn't see any red GTO's, but then again I didn't see every vehicle thre. I did see a few badass GTO's though....and a Grand Prix (yes- the 4-door) with a plate that said "V6...something". Sounded more like a space shuttle engine than a V6 though. :D

MoPower- same here. Next time drop off the Rhino and come cruise with Wazzsup, Steve, and I. :)

EDIT-
Here are a couple more pics from 1BDHEMI at the RumbleBee.org site:

(not pictured is 1BDHEMI as he was the one taking the pic. LOL)

- My best run was 14.7 at 99 mph. Intake and exhaust with stock tires/wheels and almost no clutch left.
- Chris' Bee (with the ducktail and nice 22's) was right behind me at 14.8. He's got some serious mods, and just added a new torque converter.
- Keith ran a 15.8, I think with his cutouts open. IIRC his only engine mods are the K&N intake and headers.
- Adam(?) with the black RumbleBee + Daytona wing ran about the same as Keith: 15.8 at 85 mph. No mods on his truck.
- Brian didn't run his silver Hemi. He was workin'. :)

There was absolutely no traction available. Everyone was spinning off the line, even the AWD guys. I broke it loose in 2nd *and* in 3rd! Didn't miss a shift though!
The air was nice and cool for the engines, but....that's where the power stopped. :D

Yeah....it's getting VERY close to clutch time.
The DIY might be a little tough because I plan on using a lift. I don't want to spend hours on the garage floor. :)

I could have had Jack's silver truck with a Lenco tranny and it wouldn't have made a difference that day.
No grip = no grip. The times testify to that.

I was happy with the 99 mph mark.
Breakin' the tires loose going from 2nd to 3rd will get your adrenaline flowing!
