I have read that the 8.3L SRT-10 motor wont start without the key that it is programmed to.

My dilemma is that I am working on swapping the engine into a Nissan 240sx and need a little help with the wiring... I have done some research but cant find exactly what I need.

Can I make the ECU not turn off without a key if I re-pin the harness/ECU and not run the ASD (Auto Shut Down) pins: 3 & 12 on the Gray Clip. (essential just remove some wires from the harness so they there is noting the PIN will send a signal to) But can not running these PINS make the ECU not start the engine?

Will this prevent the ECU from shutting down the motor or am I misunderstanding something? Or can the dealer flash the ecu/reprogram it by removing whatever system it has to turn the engine off without the key or correct key with the code?

As this is a Drift car that doesn't run a key, and a customer chassis harness by me.

Is this something someone has done?

There is also a couple of other PINS that I cannot figure out and YES I HAVE THE PIN LAYOUTS so dont attach them or post a link to them as I have copies in my hand.

5 volt supply - I just run power to from the battery or Relay
the GEN FIELD CONTROL- I have figured out that it has something to do with the alternator but do I run power to the wires or do those wires from the alternator power the ECU? On other motors I have wired I run power to the alternator plug but just want to be safe since I am dealing with a more expensive motor and american motor and not Japanese which is what Im used to

Contact JMB Performance, he may have a solution

not sure if I attached the images correctly. This is how the car currently sits with my current motor. But instead of upgrading to a $1500 turbo that is ball bearing and sized better ide rather try a different set up, which the motors weigh on 20 lbs apart (not sure if the weight of the 1JZ is with all accesories and full belly or just motor though) and yes the T56 is going to weigh more than the R154.... not going to bother loking that up as the weight is not in the front of the car so couldnt caredrift.jpg

and this

my subframe I just built from piece by piece... reinforced and good arms not cheap crap and dual brake caliper uprights instead of running a bolt on bracket which is on my current set up

Hi,

Why leaving something out. I know of an engine swap, where the full harness was used and it runs.o

Actually you do not need the key, but the chip in the key to tell the ecu to work.
The activator for it sits around the steering column where you put the key in.

Maybe this helps as well : http://www.vtcoa.com/forums/f7/factory-wiring-diagram-help-38137/
