I'm using a Mother's clay bar on a red truck and need some instructions. TIA!

i use a detailing spray to lubricate the bar..just rub small areas at a time, then buff.

yes, sir, the kit came with a instant detailer to keep it wet. It says do not use water! Any other thing I should not do?

pretty simple really, should be some insructions on the box...take off your watch or any jewerly you might have on you.

I did mine a few times, it works great...no real trick to it, just take your time. A few beers helps :dontknow:

In a nutshell, all you need to do is make sure the truck is wahed well.. do not dry...tear off part of the bar... do not use the whole bar at once...cuz if you drop it in the dirt...it's done...get a new piece. I use Dawn soap/water (I have it in a spray bottle) since I am "stripping" (removing all old BS) down to the clearcoat instead of the spray they provide in some kit's.
Then use the bar... sticking with the same motion through out...side to side, forward / back...ect... over the entire vehicle.... then rinse as you go...wash one more time when done...dry...polish with the Porter Cable & polish/ scratch remover..... remove. Then ...wax (I use NXT) dress the tires remove wax.... one more wax... done:rock:
Will feel like clean glass once done, and the shine is second to none.
See ya in 4 - 6.;) :p :D

..:dito: :dito: ....except I do 3 coates of wax.............and one other thing...only use Dawn when you are going to wax the vehicle...not in between waxes..it will remove the wax better than most anything..

Wash the truck with dawn soap to remove any wax still on the truck. Once its dry take a water and car soap mixture (should be in the instructions) and put into a spray bottle. Spray small sections at a time and lightly use the clay bar in a left to right motion (dont do some left to right and others up and down). Then, take a cotton towel and wipe off the section you just did. Continue til the truck is done.

I did the clay bar thing on my viper, black '72 Blazer and 2 SRT Rams and it makes A WORLD OF DIFFERENCE!

I do the Zaino thing myself, and dont use a electric buffer cause I know I'll jack something up. I did all of it by hand.

porter cable random orbital 7545. you CAN'T burn the paint with one of these and they work great!

Does the clay bar remove most all of the crap that is left on the paint after 3 years of not looking after it? I have what appears to be black paint overspray on my truck (I have no idea where it came from). I didnt really notice it until today when I tried to give the truck a 3 part polish and after trying one bedside for over 4 hours I finally gave up.

The clay bar will remove what most other cleaners wont....but it wont do the impossible...It removes surface junk but will not remove what has been absorbed into the paint....

Good note, use car wash for routine maintenance, so as not remove the wax.... and three coate's can't hurt...
I rotate application patterns with each pass when waxing...:D
And I also use the Porter Cable 7545:rock:
