So lets say hypothetically that someone usually puts the truck in tow/haul mode when racing or overtaking, and when the truck gets on the top end (100+) they take it out of tow/haul mode for the direct overdrive. Now what if he was going to overtake a bunch of slow cars, and thought he put it in tow/haul mode before he sarted to overtake, but didn't. Then when he got up to 110 he figured he'd take it out of tow/haul mode but instead accidentally put it in tow/haul mode going 110.
Besides damage to the tranny, is there any possible damage the motor might suffer?
I figure the crank and bearings, but what else could have been damaged?
Is the stock Viper crank forged, should the motor be all G?
I figure that the torque converter should let the clutches slip since one is goin going too fast and one is going too slow, but I'm not sure.
Lets say hypothetically the truck still chirps the tires on the 1st-2nd gear shift, but slips on the kickdown gear on WOT. What should he be asking the dealership to check for damage; vavle body, bands, torque converter?
Now lets say hypothetically that this dumbass doesn't mind the damage to the tranny as long as the motor is undamaged. Should he be taking it to a dyno to see if his motor is running 100%, and what RWHP RWTQ should it be putting down?
Thanks a bunch guys, oh yeah the hypothetical dumbass says thanks too.
