the more i look a them the more i want one lol. they look like pretty mean trucks and beilieve you me im all for the diesels. my family owns and builds some nasty ones but the rarity of this truck is whats realy drawing me.i live in a small town with a good amount of farming and it seems like in the last 2 years the diesel truck population has exploded. every body and there brothers sisters boyfriends grandma has one now but theres not a single srt 10 anywhere within about an hour that ive seen thus far. thats what draws me to it plus sayhing hell i own a truck that there is only 9500 in the world yeah thats ba right there lol

Hell yeah dude get a 10 they are bad@$$ rigs for sure. The diesels are sweet too but there's nothing like a 10.

well cost isnt a huge deal as a diesel is big money to so im not hugly worried and ill be keeping my dakata soo ill have a back up so no worries there. the 10 would mostly be a toy lol

omg your totally right! im going to go buy a new prius! thats it thank you so much!:banghead: i own a built 87 camaro that gets 8mpg and a lifted v8 dakota that gets 14.5 on a good day idc about awesome mpg i just want an average to compare with other things. its stupid ass comments like that that get people to hate forums like these. either help me or stfo of my thread thanks.

now for you guys who have urs supercharged how do ya like it? and did it add or take any mpg? i figured as long as you can manage to keep ur foot out of it itll add a touch but that might be impossible lol. and na i dont plan on doing any towing besides my quads. and if the occassion ever arised im surrounded by cummins diesels lol so id be good

:five: yet again another great addition by srtbrad. search buttons are great hence why i used it about 100 times bofore making this post which answered many a question but i still had some hence why i asked. yes i seen plenty on fuel milage but does itever hurt to update info? i know here in ny ever since they started adding ethenol to the gas mpg has gone down on many a vehivle so mpg from 3 or 4 years ago could be different. so seriously just stfo of my thread. thanks

Hey bud, not trying to be bias but I have to agree with SrtBrad. If fuel consumption and maintenance costs are concerns then I dont know if the 10 is for you. Although they're pretty dependable, if things do go wrong then it can get pricey (it does have a Viper engine). But if you're looking for performance then take the 10 over a diesel any day. You would have to heavily modify a diesel to just hang with a stock 10 in a straight line, never mind handling.

Owning both a diesel and a SRT-10 I'd say the cost are pretty close in parts. I would actually go as far as saying diesels may cost a little more in parts, like what you mentioned injectors and glow plugs are pricey. Diesel cost more but you get more mileage, gas cost less but you get less mileage. I had a tuned diesel with 4" turbo back exhaust and intake and it was quite impressive, another $1000 or so and it would have been faster than the 10 stock, add a tuner to the 10 and it really wakes it up, especially the 4 doors. The SRT-10 tows well I've towed a boat behind mine and it tows it but I'm looking for something a little more heavy duty but at the same time when you hear the sound of these angry trucks it makes me want to keep it.

well cost isnt a huge concern with the 10 as its a toy and ill keep my dakota. the diesel would be a dd and prolly sell my dakota so it would be more costly and i know the cost of diesel parts lol as my family builds them and they get expensive fast. i know the capabiliyies of a diesel and its phenominal really but i am the black sheep as stated before and i like to be as different from anyone and everyone as possible. i want a 10 for ripping cause i miss hauling ass lol. i want a supercharged one though cause i need forced induction after having drove the diesels for so long with the turbos i gotta have it lol but then again thats biggggg money lol

hey guys im a long time lurker and have a few questions. im paying off my dakota and want to get a new truck when shes done. im stuck between a 03 and up cummins ( my family is big into diesels) or an srt 10. ive always loved the viper trucks and there are non around at all! lol and i always try to be different. so im curious on maintinance costs modding cost and all that on the srt 10 i know what the diesels cost so im curious on these. plus here in ny diesel prices are through the roof and gas is way cheaper. i have a bro that lives in ohio and i do tow quads but nothing heavier thenthat so keep that in mind. thanks and look forward to hear from yall
