they have the core they just don't have some of the parts to go on it, i think it is the oil pump not too sure. i just want to know if that sound like a story or if it takes forever no matter what part you get.

Probly figured out that the engines aren't worth making with #3 going bad
due to IM structure and all that crap is cast... IMHO :D

It took the dealer 2.5 months to get back our viper. They said I spun the #3 and #4 bearings and bent the #3 rod. They had to do a complete bottom end rebuild. I thought it was taking waaaay too long but, whatever. I think it's pretty normal for these engines. Good luck with yours!

How do I know if I have a newer gen motor?

By having a smart ass like me tell you that you don't have anything besides a GENIII engine unless you've changed it.:p

Tony got the information on the bare block from me. As of 2-4 weeks ago you could not get a bare block, new from DC. Truck oil pans were back ordered a while back. Short block assembly, I do not know about availability.

Dont feel bad .. i can't even get a T-stat gasket
You shouldn't need a new one. The old ones are re-useable unless you booger it up getting your old T-Stat out. :dontknow:

They are not like the old T-Stat housing gaskets. These are rubber seals that fit around the outside edge of the T-Stat itself.
