I called about getting the stock manifolds extrude honed. Ouch. About $1200.
While the stock exhaust is cast iron, it's not all that heavy; only 24 lbs. per side. Headers would come close to 20 lbs. per side. You'll maybe save 10 lbs. or so by going with headers.
I picked up a spare set of stockers so I could drive around while the originals were being coated. It took Jet-Hot about a week after the boxes had arrived at their place.
- Shipped from my door: Jan. 24th.
- Returned to my door: Feb. 5th.
NOTE: You will need extra sets of gaskets for each time you swap out the manifolds. Talk to Dragon for the uber-deal.
Also, make sure to remove the negative battery cable!!!!! When the gaskets come off, they fall apart like a deck of aluminium cards. On the driver's side, they can (and probably will) fall and connect with the starter terminal. It's a light show you don't want to see.
