I would avoid the computer flash. The flash is wonderful for the QC's but not much value to the RC.
While the CAI will improve the bling and the sound, there is not much to be gained in HP via that route.
The exhaust improvements mentioned above are helpful...but if you are going to maximize the exhaust benefits...long tube headers, cat delete, three inch diameter all the way out with a Magnaflow (has a two and a half inch restriction).
You will be dissatisfied with the Hurst shifter. Going into third is problematic in most of these trucks. Gary Virgin at (
www.X-Metal.com) has a solution, the Gen X shifter.
Once you have the shifter, you will no doubt be looking for a clutch because your stock one is probably going to go south rapidly. Most of us have gone to the CenterForce clutch, and importantly, you also need to upgrade the slave and master cylinders, to the Viper models...the OEM ones on the truck are plastic and do not put up with much abuse.
As far as looks go...you will probably want to drop the truck two inches in the back and one inch in the front...you will be able to trust the vendors on this site...Roe, X-Metal, DC Performance, JMB and the others are outstanding people and they will help in every way they can.
After these basic changes you will then need to plan. Your ultimate destination will be the first decision you will need to make...but you have time.
There will be lots of help available here...and lots of different opinions too.
