Sup everyone, just got my 2005 SRT-10 QC last week, and I absolutely love it. Bought it with 21 miles on it, by the time it got shipped from Arizona to Hawaii it had around 30something. I been trying to put some miles on it and break it in real good, but my truck didn't have a manual in it and I got 480 miles on it right now. I know about not going over 4k rpm before 500 miles, but how many miles should I take it easy on my truck for? I read somewhere that I have to do an oil change at 500 miles. This true? The oil cap says Mobile1 0W 40, is this what I should use or would 5w40 be better? Thanks guys here's some pics. Pics was taken last week when truck was dirty, will get some better ones up this weekend.

Yeah I just washed the beast again tonight but camera is dead, I'll try get some nice pics up this weekend. I know the mod bug is gonna get me, can't wait to get around 2k miles so I can do the PCM flash and I/E.

Thanks man, no doubt a track day with some SRT-10's would rock. My co-worker has a Black RC and his son has a Supercharged Smoke QC. The RC guy was waiting for me after work the other day, and when I drove past in the opposite direction he then proceeded to rubber 1st-3rd. That was cool :rock:

Yeah...the only down side is waiting for the Ferry to start goin all the way to the Big Island! I hear it wont be until 2009. In the Mean Time...this forum will help you get through it! Lots of Good People here!!!:rock:

Hell yeah these trucks are awsome. I just can't wait to get more miles on it so I can romp it. I havent been above 2900rpm yet, so I have yet to "feel" the power. I know it's there though, just gotta wait.

0W 40 is the correct oil.

Oil change at 500 miles is not a requirement, but it won't hurt anything and if it gives you peace of mind, go for it.
