NEW SRT RUMBLE BEE TRUCK (2027)

My favorite entertainment with my Chevy is going to the tire store for whatever reason and watching the (mostly young) guy try to figure out why he can't find R or D to move it into the bay :D :D :D
In today’s world Im not sure they even know what R or D means hahaha let alone a 1,2 or N and P

I had a 340 dodge demon with 3 on the tree .. I got a little to radical when the snow plows buried cars on the streets of the neighborhood and tried to get out rocking it back and forth .. well didn’t workout to well as I blew the motor and ended up having to get a short block to fix it hahahaha
It was the only 340 duster , dart or demon I have ever seen .. It was fun while it lasted though ..

Um ,, are you talking about cars and shifter linkage hahahaha ! Dirty minds wan to know hahahaha
I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN hahahaha!!!

Hilarious and i see how that looks hahahaha  :D:cool: But yes it was about shifter linkage

PIG! LOL LOL

I hadn’t thought of that since back them when they changed to the auto choke …
Pre PCV or hoses either ,, Just a tube that exited under the car . When they added the PCV I believe it was the first emission control device hahaha and the start of climate control misery devices and increased auto prices … 1973 or 1974 was the total psycho emission control begging and detuning of all autos if memory is correct …egr valves , air pumps , lower compression retarding timing and weaker cams .. most went to cast engine parts from forged parts and they change more for less ..
Some green plastic valve thingy we had to have!! Jerks

Oh I remember the rock it back and forth days!! Take that where you will - hahaha lol

The art of drum brakes is a learned skill too. Better get some leg muscles to go with the arms it takes for that manual steering. Ahhhhh the good ol days

And it definitely pays to turn the drums and arc the shoes when getting new brakes :)
I had 4 wheel manual drum brakes in my 72 Road Runner, it made for some......exciting stops......

Those were common back then .took longer to replace and all those killer spring flying across the shop .. brake dust and asbestos clouds blowing them off with the air nozzles was always a treat hahahaha and nobody even knew asbestos was bad … then the brake cylinder famously leaking and gumming up the works causing you to use 2 cans of brakeleen to get yourself some good DRAIN BAMAGE BUZZ HAHAHAHA

I remove the power steering on a couple dusters with junkyard factor manual steering box .. I’ll tell you the steering was great , you could feel the road .. Now everyone is spoiled with leaky , parts going bad and expensive repairs with power steering .. Heck just look at our truck power steering system ,, What a joke IMO !

But it was just in the need of a break adjustment hahahah screw drive and special brake adjusting tool cured problems as long as you didn’t over adjust or under adjust them hahahaha pull to the left , pull to the right ,, oooo oooo what that smell and hey why did that wheel lock up and skid ,, Those were the days hahaha

And always remember to go in reverse and hit the brake pedal for the adjustment ….

It also made it interesting when the diaphragm in the power booster or the hose blew out or off ,, made things exciting .. manual brakes were so much better back then , just like manual steering…

It was the wiggle back and forth that bothered me lol.
Every other old Mopar I had came with power steering and brakes....never had trouble with any of them except for one high mileage master cylinder. Had more issues with AC & power window systems (the Road Runner didn't have either).

Sounds about right .. A/C I’ve always hated and growing up in Fairfax county Va. we really didn’t need it so off and out it went !
Master cylinder always went bad , we rebuilt them back then until every shop went into parts changing .. I couldn’t eve estimate how many I repair and then replaced over the years as a mechanic..

Only ever had one and that was my 72 Charger. I was on A1A behind Mayport naval station (my last year in the navy) and all of a sudden no brakes. Downshift and emergency brake. Climbed the fence by the back gate, walked across the flight line back to my ship, got a ride into town to the auto parts store, bought a replacement a bottle of fluid, same ride dropped me off at the car. Bench bled it on the car, hooked everything up and drove to the pats store to get my core charge back lol.

Close called can pucker it up … always love old I won stories ..

Never drive at night towards the sea in NC (;I don’t remember the location now ).. I did once and holly crap .. 2 lane road , never saw or found any sign at all and all of a sudden the road ended into the water .. luckily my brakes worked and stopped just in time .. 4 others in the car had to change their diapers hahaha .. All I could say is wtf and holly shit ! My Duster was not built for amphibious water sports hahaha ..

The in NC , again can’t remember the location we came up to a bridge ,, Skinny 2 lane and the thing was a damn near straight up and up and up trajectory and then down and down and down .. Makde the first hill up on a roller coaster a sissy hill ,, there was traffic in both directions .. it was long also .. One of the only bridges that scared the piss out of me .. like when does this ride end and don’t put your arm out the window ..
years ago the first time I drove the keys to Key West with the old original bridge was a adventure also again don’t put your arm out the window . Especially when 18 wheeler were coming hahahaha .. Oh and never stop on Islands on the way to check out anything … we walked from a parking lot to the water no more than 5 minutes out of the car in dayltime … That’s where you find out about the Florida pterodactyl state bird that will leave welts all over you beady ( Monster mosquito’s) .. My duster had a sunroof and as soon as we drove onto Key West it rained and the sun was still shinning we did even get wet while moving and it stopped raining fast , bright sun but it seemed like the entire Island was covered with a foot of water ,, people in the open door bars drinking with foot of water up the barstools .. They sat there like it was normal hahaha …
